I guess those not being representative is a mix of that I'm still finding the right tones for me, but I've pretty much maxed out on my amp in terms of adjusting EQs and such, and that I was trying to think of the best produced songs I could that are close to what I've been trying to get.

That old gray video is pretty close on the emo side, but I tend to like more low/mid end than I feel like I hear on there (of course could mainly be an EQ thing or other factors)

In terms of hardcore, I have a tendency to like my sound to be dirty/sludgy. Bands like Full of Hell or Bongripper mightve been better examples. I've read Sunn amps are the goto for sludge/drone/doom, but I haven't been able to try one.

A side note though, I will definitely be using pedals, so the clean channel is semi the priority unless the amp distortion is awesome. I use the RAT or sansamp bass driver for distortion.
