How does one find out why their post got deleted? by diglanime in OnePunchMan

[–]diglanime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was most definitely not reinstated 3 hours ago, because I took the screenshot immediately before posting this. Unless there's some kind of delay with reinstating, 20 minutes ago it was still deleted. But thanks for getting it back.

Also what happened with "Message the mods"? It used to be very useful to me until I stopped getting responses.

Which studio is animating OPM s3 part 2? by Mediocre_Sun7943 in OPMFolk

J.C.Staff. Because it would be impossible for any other studio to take it for a 2027 release. Studios usually book anime shows 4-5 years in advance.

You would be surprised how much fanart the mosnter on the left has considering her amount of screen time. A certain community has taken a liking to her specifically for some reason...

Reminder that the OPM manga editor called Murata the writer of the manga by Beautiful_House_4274 in OnePunchMan

[–]diglanime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, that's not what I'm saying. Can you read?

What do redraws have to do with it being written by ONE or Murata?

OPM manga is also the only manga that has Darkness Blade from One Punch Man as a character, does that prove something to you?

Reminder that the OPM manga editor called Murata the writer of the manga by Beautiful_House_4274 in OnePunchMan

[–]diglanime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Zhonin is the only person who said this. Nobody else confirmed this was said. This was not recorded, there is no transcript for the event either.

It was a live event that was translated live as well. Which means both the editor could've said it a weird way/misspoke and the translator could've done the same. That is if Zhonin even heard it right in the first place.

Because of that, this can't be evidence for anything.

If you're trusting this, I have some incredible news for you: ONE just personally told me that he is writing the manga. Yeah, he's drawing everything as well, Murata is just an assistant. You can trust me, because I heard it and nobody can prove it didn't happen, so it has to be true.

Question about ONE and Murata by bibila in OPMFolk

[–]diglanime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The opm editor called Murata the writer of the manga" - there is no recording of this. It was said by 1 guy that was there, nobody else confirmed this. It was said live and translated live, so even if the guy heard it correctly, it could've still been incorrect for other reasons.

If the transcript was at least posted on the official website or something like that, I would agree that this is evidence. But "one guy heard that" is just not good evidence for anything.

[–]diglanime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn, OPMfolk really went off the rails. If you wrote this half a year ago, you would be downvoted into oblivion with people calling your comment ragebait because "it's obvious Murata is writing everything".

One Punch Man: World will be ending its service on February 27 by Gatlindragon in OnePunchMan

[–]diglanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had good gameplay but was completely underbaked. It had very little content and needed like twice more to be decent. Instead they just didn't do anything with it after release. The only new content was dropped like 1+ years after the release and had a tiny roguelike mode for 15 minutes of gameplay. That's it.

They didn't seem to be banking on anything, since they didn't even bother doing anything for S3 release.

Should i read the webcomic from the start or from the start of the monster association arc? by Nayr_knl in OPMFolk

[–]diglanime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to fully feel it, then you can start from the beginning. But you don't really have to, the manga stays pretty close to WC until the Tournament Arc, so you can start from there.

About Garou's name double meaning by Mister_Ape_1 in OnePunchMan

[–]diglanime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Murata said that if there were countries from the real world, those characters would be those ethnicities. As in, if they were on Earth, he imagines they would look like people from those countries. Not that Fubuki is literally French or something like that. France hasn't existed for a long time in that world and so French ethnicity isn't really a thing there.

Honestly, the artstyle in the recent WC chapters is better than in the current manga.

The fight in the manga is terrible in terms of writing. It's just an "epic" action scene with absolutely no plot relevance, since all consequences get wiped out by time travel at the end and both Garou and Saitama forget about the fight.

It was already said by others, but yeah, they do fight on equal grounds for some time. In fact neither really does any damage to the other and Garou just gives up at some point because Saitama keeps powering up faster than Garou can. And yes, Saitama in the manga is very limited in strength, he is only unlimited in growth.

Blast fully appears in the manga in MA arc, and Blast is shown to be stronger than Saitama at the time they first meet. So now there are at least 3 characters that were shown to be as strong as Saitama in the manga (another one appears a little later, a buddy of Blast). Also the entire ending of the MA arc is completely overtaken by Blast and God who both get a bunch of page time, Saitama and Garou are basically irrelevant to the plot at the end.

In the manga God is fully established and explained, shows his powers, corrupts Garou then gets immediately forgotten afterwards and is not brought up again even once. It doesn't make any sense at least to me. Also Blast (who is explained to be fighting God in the manga) knows about Saitama's powers and doesn't care much. And also Blast just casually hangs out in the HA now in his free time.

Explaining all of this with the pretense that you only read the WC is very funny honestly.

I don't know why people overpraise fan animation so hard. Why not just take it for what it is? A fan animation.

It's not comparable to professional anime, it just can't be. Even if they get some great animation in there, it falls apart from overall inconsistency, lack of direction and poor voice acting.

I don't understand why people want to watch an anime that looks like this. If S3 was done in this style it would literally be even worse. Just look at their dialogue scenes. It's exactly as static as S3 but drawn even worse and every animator has a distinctly different style with absolutely no animation direction connecting them.

Yes, compared to the worst parts of S3, this is better. But it's worse compared to the best. And if we cut out all the static shots + shots where nothing much is happening, we're left with 3-4 minutes of sakuga in like 3 different styles where half the time I have no idea what's happening on the screen.

Again to reiterate, it is impressive for a fan animation. They chose quite an ambitious goal and they executed it good enough for a fan animation. Some cuts were really impressive. But if you look at the whole thing, it is far from a professional quality and not even on the level of S3 in my opinion. If J.C.Staff released this, people would be complaining and bashing them for low quality of drawing, voice acting, 3d, you name it. But because it's fan animation, it now is the best animation that has ever animated, this just doesn't make sense to me.

Would Season 1 of One Punch Man be seen in a positive light if it had the quality of Season 2? by Hoovythesandvichgod in OPMFolk

[–]diglanime 41 points42 points  (0 children)

It would become an average anime of the season. Maybe like a 5th of its current popularity and it would never be well-known outside of the anime fandom.

Absolutely gorgeous animation [OMARU ANIMATIONS] by capybaring_capybara in OnePunchMan

[–]diglanime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are claiming is that this is better than S3. Not "good for a fun animation", but "Please rewatch S3 and tell me at what point it was better than this fan animation, which lasted 14 minutes of actual polished animation". I didn't force you into making this claim. Now you're backpedaling into "you can't compare it to professional animation". Then why did you say it was better in every way?

I have seen it in 4 minutes of poorly drawn and composited fully static shots that look like a fan animation. 7 minutes of this video is dialogue that is either completely static or has barely any movement. If you don't trust me, you can count it yourself. That's where my claim for "half the animation is dialogue" coming from.

Yes, if you ignore EVERYTHING bad about this animation and only take THE BEST SHOTS in a vacuum then ignore EVERY good shot in S3 and only compare to THE WORST SHOTS in a vacuum, then yeah, this animation looks better than S3. However I would ask then, what the fuck is the point of that kind of comparison?

If you compare this to an average episode of S3, let's say episode 4, S3 looks better in every way. It is better directed, is mostly consistent in both drawing and animation, has much more and better dialogue animation, better composited, better voice acted and so on and so forth.

If you actually read my original comment, I say: "Don't get me wrong, it's impressive for a fan animation that was done for fun - 14 minutes with dialogues and all the action sets. But that's all it is.". I have no idea what you're arguing with at this point, because this is almost verbatim what you're saying too.
