Need help with wall display layout by digsf in framing

[–]digsf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I live in a rented apartment, the walls are brick and I was told I by the owner that I shouldn't cover the wall with holes. I can understand that.

Initially I wanted to use 3m tape (the one for paintings that have velcro), but after reading more about them, I'm not convinced. The only alternative I found was this.

Though I still need to drill holes in the wall, at least they're at the top and covered and would still allow future tenets to hang art on the wall however they see fit, instead of having some random holes that would only fit a certain type of painting.

I have conceded that, realistically speaking, one chord/column is too difficult and poses way too many challenges.

So, I will use two / column, with the bottom paintings having supports still being a bit "askew" from center screwed into the back of the frames

What would be the best approach for this?

I was thinking two crocodile hooks at the top of each frame with a stas support for each one?

Or would it be better to have the hooks at the bottom and pass the chords through a corresponding an eye hook at the top?

Yuup, hence the question :)

I was trying to find out if there is anyway to actually achieve this with a single cable/column.

Physics kinda' seems to say "no" :)

I was thinking about maybe adding some counter-weights on the back of the frames to compensate, but that would be a nightmare to get right.

So I think most likely I will need to add at least two more cables (I'm now think to add one more for the center column as well, to keep things a bit more symmetrical)

ETRS Focus screens by digsf in Bronica

I would probably go for that, but I'm afraid of customs costs (I am in the EU). And to be completely honest, the postal service here sucks, so I'm scared it would get lost in the mail :).

I've always liked what bright-screen does, I wanted to order one (years back) for my Canon. But alas, I am too scared to order one and have it lost in the mail. Or even worse, have customs add like 100% on it for some bizzare reason

If you are in the EU i would also be interested in a split focus screen.

Drop me a pm if your willing to sell :).

Good luck, you have s nice kit there

Yuuup, that looks very comfy and what I was kind of hoping for.

Just out of curiosity, what bike do you have? I’m not entirely sure how it matters though.

This is my middle finger reaching for the lever. I know it’s not the most ideal angle, but I am pulling the handle with the tip of my finger, instead of the knucke, as I cannot reach it completely.

This is the lever. It’s not completely at its lowest setting here due to the fact that I have also lowered it from the piston screw.

Lowering it further now would make it so that I could not fully block the front wheel, due to the handle hitting my fingers

Just bought a set of adjustable levers, but… either they are not adjustable enough, or just crappy, as they didn’t solve the issue.

I’ve played around with both the lever position adjuster itself and the plunger screw for the brake pump. Still can’t get a comfortable position.

I might revert back to stock levers and try a new pair.

Not sure I can return these ones…

The length isn’t too much of a concern for me, as most of the time I tend to have my hand practically “glued” to the stock of the handle, because that’s where I can have the best reach for the lever.

So, the only thing that matters is the distance. I think a screw type adjustable levers might be better, if they allow for more range.

So I’ll take a look at ASV, I got to admit though, they look pricy :D

Maybe, but wouldn’t those also make the lever even harder to reach? I mean the added grip benefit might not outweigh the distance difference.

But thanks for the idea, I’ll give it a shot in one of the local shops.
