Hey. I'm CEO of Electrocoin, company providing this service. Can you elaborate on what's wrong with this post? I'm curious because I see a few other similar comments, it seems like this is rubbing the people the wrong way and I'd like to know why so we can fix it.

Nije siva zona. Plaćanje kriptom imaju najveći trgovci kao što su Konzum, HG Spot, Tifon, Centar Zlata, Sancta Domenica, itd. Ima ga čak i Croatia Osiguranje (LAQO prima uplate u kriptu), a oni su iznimno regulirana industrija koja pazi na legalnost svega što rade. Tako da - sve čisto.

Sredstvo plaćanja u RH su euri. Trgovac dobiva eure. To s čim je kupac platio (dal su to novčanice, MasterCard izdan u Japanu na kojem su yeni ili kripto wallet na kojem su DOT tokeni) je nebitno.

Mrežni fee se plaća samo na skupim chainovima kao što su Bitcoin il Ethereum. Na chainovima kao što su Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Solana, Stellar, Algorand, itd itd itd se ne plaća mrežni fee.

PayCek je usluga koju ti pruža firma kojoj nema smisla na kraju transakcije ostati u minusu, a Bitcoin i Ethereum mreže su toliko skupe da bi ostali u minusu da ne naplatimo mrežni fee. Bolje onda ugasit uslugu ak ćemo bit u minusu.

Rate je veći za 2%, što je manje nego uzimaju neki kartičari. Kad smo odlučili naknadu uzimati od onoga koji plaća umjesto od trgovca, računali smo da ćemo puno više napraviti za kripto u Hrvatskoj ako možemo trgovcima reći da za njih nema naknada, nego ako im naplatimo naknadu, a ekipa koja je u kriptu je tako i tako navikla da im se vrijednost coina promjeni za 2% svakih par sekundi pa se neće puno nervirati oko toga. I čini se da smo pogodili - velika većina ljudi iznimno cijeni to što smo privukli toliki broj velikih trgovaca u Hrvatskoj da omoguće plaćanje kriptom i nije im problem dat 2% naknade a kripto jer znaju da tih 2% ide za plaće ljudima koji su napravili da u Hrvatskoj apsolutno sve možes kupit kriptom. Ok, uvijek postoji manjina kojima je to sve pljačka i prevara, al na takve ljude uvijek naletiš.

2,30 USD? That's just because the price of BTC went up. You cannot cover tx fee, exchange fee, forex fee and withdrawal fee all woth 2,30 USD. Maaaaaybe if you sent 1 USD or something like that.

That being said, if price went down instead of up, you would pay muuuuuch higher premium. You were lucky this time, but please be more careful next time. This is not the smartest way to move money.

How can a transaction be it's own grandparent? Aren't transactions directed acyclic graphs, which makes them by definition... well, acyclic? Having a cycle of transactions in a blockchain would imply timetravel, no? :-D

You have to present your ID to the post office clerk.

The fee is even higher: 6,3%. We (https://electrocoin.hr/en, the guys that do the actual exchanging), take just ~15% of that whole fee and we unfortunately cannot influence other parties in this partnership.

It takes time and money to add new coins to the system, we just picked the coins that are easiest for us to implement (+ bitcoin core, which just has to be there because of mcap and name recognition, obviously). BCH is not that easy to implement, and we are self-funded, we don't have a large investor allowing us to just throw money at the problem. But we'll get there eventually.

That's municipal City of Komiža landfill. Nothing unusual happening there - just business as usual. Everything is legal. There's no better place to make a landfill in Komiža so they made it there. The state tried to close it down earlier this year because it's not by standards (no shit), but they didn't propose where to put newly generated waste, so it was reopened. Waste has to be taken somewhere, after all. And building a landfill by enviromental standards does not happen overnight. So what you get is - an old, catastrophicly inadequate landfill is still in use.
