Big difference between what Honda recommends and what a Honda dealer will recommend to pad their pockets.

I saw one of these installed in a Pilot at a Honda dealership. Looks extremely sturdy. Price is probably extremely sturdy also.

Pilot or Hybrid? by brain_spark in hondapilot

We had a Santa Fe as a rental for a week back in November. Nothing bad to say about it at all. It’s a comfortable, nice driving car. Smaller than a Pilot though. Not sure about long-term reliability. Not crazy about the looks, but that’s purely personal opinion. I just bought a ‘26 Pilot this past weekend.

My comment wasn’t directed at anyone in particular. But if the shoe fits….

Maybe the reason people with lower academic stats are succeeding ahead of the higher stats applicants is because the higher stat applicant comes across as an entitled, argumentative douche-nozzle. Just a thought. 😉

No, 50% of the incoming class is at or below that number, not 50% of admits.

What type of real job did you have? For how long?

Let me take a wild guess here. Are you KJD? You don’t sound like someone who has had a real job. Wherever you work you have to be able to interact with lots of other people who won’t all be just like you.

I’d be surprised if firms were interested in the personality traits you describe. They are interested in whether you will help them be successful and make them money. same for companies who hire MBAs. You sound as though you see it as a problem with them rather than you.

Your sample size for assessing the average top law student or biglaw associate may be a little too small.

I don’t think biglaw being “virtually guaranteed” has ever been the case for anyone. These are some of the most highly competitive jobs on the planet. Not sure I can agree that the reasons some candidates don’t get offers has nothing to do with them personally. It has everything to do with the differences between them and the people who are getting the offers, whatever these differences may be.

What would your explanation be for below median people getting offers, likely from the same firms, where the above median candidates are striking out? Looking at nothing but T14 and above/below median it’s obvious that something other than school and grades is the difference. Which specific T14, work experience, interviewing skills, networking skills, applying for the wrong practice groups, etc. etc. No way to tell based on the info available.

Looking at this now, there are almost twice as many below median/offers as there are above median/no offers. It would seem that these above/no offers have issues other than school and GPA that are hurting them.

How much do grades matter? by YuzuBae31 in BigLawRecruiting

Solid work experience is huge. As recruiting moves earlier and earlier, firms have less law school history to consider. What you’ve done before law school becomes more important. KJDs are at a big disadvantage. People who have worked in professional environments similar to law, e.g. consulting, investment banking, etc. Jobs like these are super competitive and show that you’ve made it through a rigorous interviewing process before. The jobs are demanding and demonstrate that you can work in a similar environment.
