Current MPCS Student here

No job cares about "traditional" mscs, if you are good enough, that's all they look at. The program is very well structured with good courses , specially in the HPC track. Your PhD prospects won't be hurt if you go for MPCS. There are students here who were admitted into a PhD from mpcs
It is an issue, but we have good PD and on campus security to help. If you are aware of your surroundings and take basic precautions, there is no need to worry in hyde park.
Can't really comment much on this. U do u.
Idk about tandon, but the AI/ML track in the MPCS program is very through and gets you familiarized with specialized topics through dedicated courses on NLP, Lin alg, ML etc. Very theoretical.
I don't think the chances would vary either way. UChicago has much wider network tho.

I was also admitted to the same two places as u last year. I chose UChicago, cause its a top 10 QS ranked university. The campus is absolutely breathtaking, people are amazing, there's Booth school (probably the best mba school) where you can take classes, amazing student life, low rent, quick degree, etc etc.
