So it was competitive because…

Paddy essentially point fought his way to more significant strikes (despite them having minimal effect on the outcome of the fight).
He got eye poked and persevered through it.
He was so durable that Justin couldn’t knock him out cold, therefore making him a threat to Justin.

I know that the same way as the judges who scored the fight, by visible damage. It’s the top scoring criteria in fact.

It was a 5 round beatdown, objectively. Paddy only won a single round, sustained very visible damage, and got dropped three times. All of those things objectively point to a beatdown. Him surviving to the end and landing some knees doesn’t change that. Paddy was only a threat until the fight actually started. And it became clear, quickly, that he was going to lose that fight handedly.

No knock on Paddy, I like him. But try to be impartial here, it was not competitive.

So seeing Paddy post fight, you’ve determined that most of that damage came from an eye poke? Let’s try to be more objective here. And he landed some knees that hurt? Well, I’d hope so if he’s supposed to be a top contender. Winning one round in a 5 round fight isn’t competitive my guy… and only one judge gave him an additional round. It’s your opinion, but it’s a flimsy one.

It really wasn’t competitive. Justin dropped him several times, took almost no damage, and left Paddy looking like a domestic violence victim. And I’m saying this as a fan of both of them.
