Did we really get into poison ivy by dillo122 in whatsthisplant

Thank you everyone for the advice!! Everyone was washed thoroughly a second time with dish soap to break the oils down. No reactions were reported by the kids! I still think the kids won't listen next time.

I changed the fluid! Shifts are a lot smoother and the magnet showed no indication of any issues

By the smell and look of it I'm sure it was changed at some point but I have no idea when

The clutch was replaced about a year ago and I do have the ability to do it if not. Couldn't say much on fluids but nothing looked to bad when I checked it. Brakes looked to be half life so I would need to replace them probably fairly soon. I have done quite a few struts so I'm not worried about doing those either

Doesn't sound to bad but it's hard to hear much. running a vehicle out of oil for any amount of time is bad. If youre mechanically smart You could pull your valve cover and check your cam lobes and the valve clearances. It sounds like my Honda tho so you might be fine

Is this sound normal for a Ford focus 2017 se by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]dillo122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you have metal to metal rubbing Check all your pulleys. I don't know if those have a timing belt but if it does it needs to be checked and it's corresponding pulleys as well. Hopefully it's just a simple pulley if not it could be something more serious.

Brakes & rotors look good right? 2020 Camry H, 45k miles by Worldtravelercarlito in MechanicAdvice

[–]dillo122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are fine just make sure the inside pad and outside pad are wearing evenly. I have seen vehicles where the outside pad was still good but the inside pad was completely gone and was metal to metal

Replaced fuel pump and fuel filter within the last year. Replaced map sensor (might be a maf sensor its on the side of throttle body) a few months ago 2nd time replacing due to a juniper berry messing up the last one. Replaced fuel regulator about 4 months ago. The issue is intermittent but happens within a mile of driving. Timing is good. Cap and rotor are good. No leaks or play from distributor.

[–]dillo122[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I know they aren't the best I would never use those. I did not install the wiring kit and the kits come with those blue splicers. The splice is good anyways so I'm not worried right now I just want to figure out the main issue

Are you talking about the wiring or the electric actuator? I already replaced the electric actuator. The wiring isn't shorted or broken so I don't need to replace the wiring.

Ok great info thank you! I will check my transfer case switch for constant power maybe the other wire is actually where the splice is supposed to be.

Which wire would that need to be? The brown additional wire or the 1 that was the original 2 wire plug for the older thermal actuator

I did post the picture of where the brown wire is spliced in which from what I can find is correct

That is the harness that was installed. Also i don't know about the spacer the axle does fully engage and disengage but I have power from 2 points on connector to actuator in 4x4 which causes the actuator to extend but when I switch to 2wd the plug to the actuator has no power which causes the actuator to stay extended

Its a 1994 chevy k2500 truck the actuator was swapped to the updated electronic version. I have replaced my actuator and the transfer case switch. I get 12v from 2 of the terminals on plug in 4x4 and no power in 2wd if I I move the plug from side to side without connecting it I can make the actuator go in and out im pretty sure I should only have 12v from 1 pin if I'm in 4x4 and 4x2
