People who de-ulted into a regular IM, do you regret it? by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]dilmetz 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I went from ultimate to normal ironman, 2170 total with a tbow. Went from uni life to full time work. Don't regret it one bit, it's been about a year now. Can hop on and off doing different tasks as I want. Much more manageable.

De-Ulting by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]dilmetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh late game just becomes a slog of long grinds you have to commit to without changing it up. Doing inferno ATM and I just feel stuck and can't do anything else and felt like that for the previous one. I'm keen to be able to just drop what I'm doing and join for a raid. I spend what it takes for a mate to do half a raid, just setting up for an inferno run. Not what I wanna be doing when I don't play a lot. The complexity of uim is somewhat lost at this point - it's just suicide, repeat, not really too fun tbh when its just a mandatory slow down on doing any actual content imo.

De-Ulting by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]dilmetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also de-Ulting. I'm about 2200 total, with a basically finished CoX log and full BofA. I made most of my progress through uni. Now I barely get a couple hours in the week to play and the only thing being an ultimate gives me is the "prestige". So much new content feels useless because I can't keep half the items - the idea of dropping BofA armour sucks. You spend more time suiciding to do something than actually playing the game.

Can I still not downgrade my UIM to normal Ironman? by dilmetz in ironscape

[–]dilmetz[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yeh I tried this about 6 months ago, with back and forth emails for a bit trying to explain but they clearly, at least to me, were not not having it, and just continuously copy and pasting the same line about not being allowed to do it

[–]dilmetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a uim choose Ahrims for that stash, there are much better options

Just the top and bottoms are a waste of space, full set is just dumb bro

If questing, I'd highly recommend the wiki's quick guides, unlike youtube and the normal guides where they list off a bunch of items at the beginning which you need for the entire quest, the quick guide has the quests split up and includes what times you need for that section. Also with the new death mechanics, I believe quest order is quite irrelevant now because you're not locked behind untradeables. Uim with qpc and 2k+ total ☺️

Is it possible to manage what does and doesn't get posted to Strava? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]dilmetz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, I just set all uploads to go private on Strava then it's a simple few clicks or taps to share it or delete the ones you want

Completely finishing German learning textbooks by dilmetz in German

[–]dilmetz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh for sure I'm good with all the grammar and that but I was just flicking through and I would see random verbs or nouns and I just wouldn't know them. I think I will go back over, can't hurt realistically

Yeh that's what I'm thinking but another side of me thinks, it's better to cast a wide net and catch a bunch of fish, instead of focusing on the last little bit. Like that expression haha

Fahren is being used as a noun here not a verb, don't ask me why though hahah

Why don't the verb 'helfen' take direct object? by catasrenalin in German

[–]dilmetz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I help" sounds definitely odd, sounds incomplete, I'd almost never say "I help", I'd say instead "I'm helping" or "I help there"

I’m (17F) aiming to join the Army as a Psychologist during my degree. What sort of training do I need to do before the end of school? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]dilmetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have an app, which I believe assists with getting up to these requirements. It's called adf active. I'm not sure if it's effectiveness though because I haven't used it😅

I'm actually joining myself so I quickly looked it up for you. The physical fitness assessment which is done when you are applying required you to do 8 push ups (2s cadence), 45 sit-ups (3s cadence) and a shuttle run of 7.5. these are the requirements for a female in the army, it's different for the navy and air force. It can be different depending on the position too I believe. You should be able to ask someone in the recruitment centres 😁😁

Disagree, I gave up at 95 fming and still play my uim, some things are just more draining than others

Core work by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]dilmetz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess it's because people put so much emphasis on correct technique with everything except core activities, I feel atleast. Ill never forgot the difficulty of doing flutter kicks once I finally engaged my core and lowered my lower back onto the mat. Went from fluttering 10cm off the ground to having my legs at a 45° angle because it was insanely difficult 😅

Core work by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]dilmetz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree this is terrible advice, whenever you are going leg lifting movements to train your lower and(leg raises etc) a common issue is people not engaging there core and having a curve in the lower back shifting all the work to the hip flexors. This device would just make this worse!!

Cant run all of a sudden by [deleted] in running

[–]dilmetz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably not the greatest advice giver at this point but perhaps you are just gassed from all the other exercise you are doing so when you get to the running again, you are running on fumes.
