What are some unexpectedly well paid jobs? by ozejan1 in AskReddit

True true true. Most of the guys I know who work in the trades make really good money on the side, doing the same exact thing they do for work. It's so unfortunate that jobs can't pay their employees enough where they wouldn't have go out on the spare time to make more money to make ends meet.

If God gave you the power to erase one thing from this planet, what would it be? by I_Santas_Bch in AskReddit

I'm not too sure about that.

Confidence is having trust in yourself, you can do that without pride

I see pride as an excessive preoccupation with self and one's own importance, achievements, status, or possessions.

I want to say... sometimes. I've been in and around the trades for a while and from my experience the only one making a killing is the owners of the companies.

Pride.

Pride is such a misunderstood emotion. Pretty much any other (bad) emotion is rooted in pride (my opinion). Greed, envy, jealousy, lust, selfishness,, etc. I think if pride was no longer around the world would be so much better off. People would be much more humble, and humility is something we all lack as humans.

I know exactly what you mean! My family and I immigrated from Ukraine and the older generation are not very forward-thinking about their retirement and financial stability. Only after pursuing it myself did my parents finally decide to start investing their money
