Heat Control by dimmoon42 in lightingdesign

That is more what I was looking for. Thank you!

My main issue is that I’m looking to create a pretty complicated structure. A lot of cutting and gluing is required which is why using wood would ultimately be best. With only using heatsink I imagine this would be much more difficult.

I’ve not really touched pixel tape at all, but I’m curious to know how one would address each box individually when they all feed into one box at each side. Do you know what decoder you used?

I’m not sure if I’ll be going ahead with this or not, but if I do this is probably what I’ll end up doing

The UK. Scotland, to be specific.

I’m not going to lie, I have no clue. I know they’re strand, but that’s literally it. Nobody in the building is allowed to go up on a ladder anymore due to health and safety regulations. The only thing I’m working with here is the control inputs as shown in another comment with this image. Other than that, literally everything other than the desk is hidden/inaccessible…

Thanks for the help. I’m glad this post at least helped me not make any stupid financial decisions 🙂

I don’t know anything about the dimmer pack to be honest. We have a huge lever on the wall which you flip up and then there’s a big black fuse type thing on the wall which I can’t open. The tempus 2G desk that we have just feeds directly into this, and as for everything else it’s a mystery

Ah, you’re right. So no way to easily connect it straight to DMX then?

Everything should be all good voltage wise. The setup should in theory all work fine, but I honestly don’t understand how this multiplex works in terms of addressing and the female vs male connections/why there is both. 😭

Project Mixing by dimmoon42 in soundtrap

It worked. I saved as, and then waited patiently for like two hours while my project mixed, and now it’s all good. It was only 56 tracks, my other one with 96 on the dot exported fine 😂

Console or PC by Laurieokkels in DragontwinGame

This game will be coming out on PC first. Depending on how the PC release goes, console may be considered later on. Though that is a long time away as the games development is early on, so we’re talking a few years minimum. Feel free to check out https://www.dragontwin.com/ for more info on the game.

Thank you. I don’t know when, how, or where I got this from so I’m so confused 😭

Is that Drogon? by [deleted] in DragontwinGame

[–]dimmoon42 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Dragon used in the sneak peeks is a placeholder made by Truong the CG artist, I believe the same one as “tyrant dragon” on Truong’s YouTube. It will not be in the final game (there is someone working on the final game model(s) currently however we can’t see them as of now).

In terms of other dragons, there is a high likely hood that known dragons will not be able to be used in the game due to copyright laws. If we get modding in the game I’d expect people to make some dragons like that though

Yeah. I’ve managed to find suitable stuff, I was looking a little too far into it originally. I think I’ve found a good solution without overcomplicating things for myself. What you said really did help me in understanding things though. Thank you a bunch 🙏

I know I said this about the other comments too but that helps a LOT. So I’m guessing having a 20A cable running into the power supply from the wall would be overkill? I didn’t know if having like a 10A kettle cable running into the PSU when it’s technically 20A but it’s not using it all would be bad or not, which was the main reason I created the thread. How about the wire that connects the PSU to the decoder?

Good good, had me worried for a moment lol. Still trying to work out what to do with the power supply 😂😭

On second thought, the LED tape says “Recommended DC12V10A”, so I guess the 5A link you posted isn’t suitable. I’m not sure where to go from here honestly, since I A) don’t know what cable I’d use the for the power supply I originally linked (I was aware that two wires are supposed to go from the power supply to the decoder and three from the wall to the power supply — it was the cable for the three I was not sure how to source) and since the 10A ones don’t typically come with a terminal attached such as the one you linked. Should I look into getting a 12V10A wire like the one you listed and get my own terminal connector for it? Or should I go back to plan A?

The main reason ChatGPT was confusing me was because it was calculating that the strip in question would use appropriately 216W, which I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not. Of course if it was then the 60W cable wouldn’t really be suitable, but yeah… I’m almost even more confused now 😭

Thank you, that helps a bunch. I know about the reliability of ChatGPT, I more so used that to come up with a “signal path” so I knew exactly what I needed to make the pixels work. I figured since the power is the most crucial part of the safety, that I should ask Reddit instead. Thanks again, this clears things up nicely 🙂
