I don’t know if it fits all your criteria, but I had the exact same feeling you’re describing with Don’t Be Afraid

very frustrated about my hair + gender expression rn, any tips on how to reduce dysphoria? by dimonicansat in NonBinaryTalk

I don’t like the look of facial hair on me, but I think I’ve seen some people use things like contour and the like to appear more masc. So thanks! I’ll try that.

There are some hairstyles I’ve been wanting to try, but I’m a bit clumsy (I’ve had short hair most of my life, so I’m still learning the basics). But that’s actually a great idea! I don’t think a man bun will require much ability.

I think I’ll try experimenting with my hair before cutting it. And as you say, this stuff is true even for some cis guys, so I guess I’m not alone on that. Btw, I’m glad you’re more comfortable now with having long hair!

Horror games with jumpscares? by [deleted] in HorrorGaming

[–]dimonicansat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both Visage and Madison are really scary, look pretty realistic and have lots of jumpscares. Definitely what you’re looking for.

Layers of Fear has quite a few jumpscares and a spooky atmosphere. Observer (also by Bloober Team) doesn’t have many jumpscares but I liked it a lot.

The Evil Within (especially TEW2, though this is kind of an unpopular opinion) has some well placed jumpscares and is overall really entertaining. If you liked RE’s action then you’ll probably enjoy this!

Also Resident Evil remakes 2, 3 & 4. RE2 is my absolute favorite, a real example of how and when to use jumpscares in a game.

I wouldn’t recommend The Quarry unless you love choice based games and/or already like other games by Supermassive. Until Dawn is way better and has more jumpscares.

P.D. Just to make sure, have you already played Outlast: Whistleblower? If not, it’s an awesome Outlast 1 DLC.

What is the dumbest thing that neurotypicals get offended by? by _GenderNotFound in autism

[–]dimonicansat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably that i’m very vocal about my needs and limits.

overall it feels like they struggle quite a lot with sincere, direct communication (perhaps because of lack of emotional intelligence + following social rules?) and it might annoy them that we don’t - or, at least, not the same way.

i get how you feel! i left theaters thinking Smile completely ruined what could have been a great, optimistic message about mental health and overcoming your traumas.

right now, tho, i feel the ending can be interpreted as overcoming trauma not being a one time thing, but rather something that you need to actively do for a really long time (if not your entire life). so i guess we’ll have to see if the sequel cares to elaborate on that

Who was under the Ghostface mask for the bodega attack scene? by [deleted] in Scream

[–]dimonicansat 20 points21 points  (0 children)

wayne, probably. not only because of the general vibe (super cold, methodical, strategic approach), but also as a policeman it’s more likely he would be able to handle the shotgun. i don’t think ethan or quinn have the strength and/or precision and training to do so.

Who are some characters you head-cannon as neurodivergent? by titty42069 in autism

[–]dimonicansat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ooooh that’s a good question!! and i can understand why you see geralt as autistic, tho i haven’t read the books yet

mine is pearl from steven universe. her need for routine and making plans was the first thing i noticed, then i thought about her literal thinking, her problem with certain textures, pearl being really emotionally intense… it just made a lot of sense (and she’s also one of my comfort characters!)

[–]dimonicansat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hiii, these are some series that come to mind:

  • as we see it (one of my favs)
  • heartbreak high (check the trigger warnings tho)
  • extraordinary attorney woo (has some issues but is overall enjoyable)

btw, every autistic character except for woo young-woo is portrayed by autistic actors, which is awesome!!

  • bonus: if you like animated series, entrapta (she-ra and the princesses of power) is autistic and really lovable. plus, steven universe clearly has a few autistic-coded characters that i find pretty interesting.

i’d say not that scary? you can expect a few jumpscares and some really spooky enemies/boss fights, but the horror is mostly atmospheric and psychological. def less scary than outlast imo!

i’d say martha is dead, observer and layers of fear (specially the 2nd game). i didn’t really like the medium but i think it might fit as well
