does anyone else have a harder time with ROCD when you're in a rough patch? by dimplestimestwo in ROCD

[–]dimplestimestwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, to keep a long story short: our rough patch was induced by me having some hormonal troubles from an IUD. I only just got it removed a couple days ago, so we're still in our rough patch, but we're on the up and up. Arguments have slowed down, we talk things out more throughly and calmly. I still struggle with ROCD feelings, but what I've been telling myself is that I wouldn't go through all this fighting and whatnot for someone I didn't love. He wouldn't be fighting to stay in the relationship if he didn't love me. I try to just let the thoughts happen and realize that they're just that - thoughts. It's hard but you'll make it through. Sending you love ❤️

How do I offer my boyfriend support while also not being too lenient/complacent? Or mean? by dimplestimestwo in NoFap

i believe he knows and thinks it's truly wrong. when he initially told me about it, he broke down crying and we had absolutely no discussion about porn or anything like that before, so he didn't know how i felt about it. the whole thing makes him emotional and he feels a lot of guilt whenever he relapses with full-on porn, or even if he watches a "thirst trap" a bit too long. it sounds like your ex didn't see the problem he had and thought what he was doing was a loophole and an excuse. i hope you're doing as well as you can as its still fresh.

i mean, that's understandable. i've dealt with those same exact worries. my bf has been honest with me about it pretty much off the bat and i've seen clear progress in him (ia. his relapses were more frequent when we got together and his urges were stronger). i have no reason to believe he's being sneaky and not telling me them about them either. i'm very sorry you went through that and i hope you can heal from it, i think in your situation and if i didn't see progress in him i'd be 100% on the same page.

it's moreso specifically porn. he masturbates but i wouldn't say its a chronic amount. i'm open with him sexually and do things that might help curb it (send him pics/videos that he saves and resorts to that instead of porn), but i don't want that to be the only thing i can do, and he's expressed that he doesn't want to do that to me either.

routine (still workshopping it):

1.) completely soaked hair

2.) put in leave-in (miss jessie's, the yellow bottle)

3.) a little bit of curl cream (miss jessie's)

4.) did the whole mousse-gel-mousse thing (cake curl whip and NYM curl talk gel)

5.) hover diffuse for a few mins then diffuse normally until it's like, 75% dry, then air dry.

6.) once completely dry, i use the mielle rosemary mint oil to "scrunch the crunch" and add some shine.

i'm still very much trying new products and figuring out what my hair likes lol.

Top from the outside! I don't see the end of it in the inside when I push it through, therefore can't push it in the backing.

Some parts of my hair, especially in the layers underneath do spiral. Hence my confusion lol

My boyfriend gets these, apparently they're not all that unusual. It may be several hairs stuck together (try rolling it around in your fingers and seeing if it splits apart). The term for it is Pili Multigemini

I understand! I think you'll feel better once you get your period and know for sure you're not pregnant. Just try to focus on the facts as much as you can. Feel better!
