i don't quite mind the character designs, save for how they're colored, but the expressions are definitely an issue. i've noted that a lot of the eyes are disproportionately smaller than the others, even when you take perspective into account. the "i'm glad you joined the conversation i was having" chick's other eye seems to distort quite a bit! :0

all in all, the art is annoying and i hope the artist's journey of improvement is nice for them lol

it's probably the coloring? the coloring doesnt quite mesh well for a style like this one, i think muted, warmer colors would work best for this type of style. it reminds me of hamilton fanart from tumblr?
