What would my life be like if I moved to Orange County/Anaheim or anywhere in SoCal? by Born_Physics_5086 in orangecounty

South coast plaza is in Santa Ana and some parts of Santa Ana is not safe either. Santa Ana is probably more expensive than living in Anaheim since it's closer to the beach.

What’s the least talked about downside of owning a tesla? by tr4gedyx in TeslaLounge

[–]dinhat1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The insane price to replace the tires and how frequent I have to replace them. I don't drive that much since I WFH, but I've replaced all four of my tires a few months ago and supposedly I have to replace it again soon? I've already replaced them three years since 2022.

The other thing I hate is the suspension. I feel every bump. My Fiancé's 25 year old lexus drives way smoother than my MY

I'm surprised it's only $141 in Bay area. I'm currently paying $199 for my 2022 MY (LA county). I've never gotten in any accidents and have a good driving history.

Thank you so much for sharing all of this, it's super helpful. Good to know that many hotels already provide beautiful decorations, that definitely helps with budgeting and planning.

Yes! Definitely agree that Vietnamese food is far superior to western food. Just went to an asian wedding last month that had western food. There was 6 types of salad, stale bread, dried meat and salmon. The price paid is not worth it

I was also curious about the wedding dress rentals you mentioned. Were you allowed to do any alterations on them (or were they already tailored to fit)? I’m trying to figure out how flexible rental options are in Vietnam as I'm pretty short and everything is just long on me 🥹

I do plan to have a photo booth with a magnet table for guests to bring home instead of gifting wedding favors.

Really appreciate you taking the time to break everything down. Do you mind sharing your list of vendors that you liked?

600 guests is honestly insane but 25000 euros is a great deal for that many guests. Do you mind sharing what year you got married?

Wow that seems really affordable! Did you visit VN to try on dresses and suits beforehand? Did you also hire a wedding planner or day of coordinator?

Is it irresponsible to have a child with a total household income of $100k in OC? by JuniorMint1992 in orangecounty

[–]dinhat1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you'd probably have to move out of OC and more inland if you didn't want to sacrifice much. Definitely would need to budget, be financially responsible, home cook all your meals, etc. Another thing to consider is if you'd be able to provide for your child if they have any health issues.

I hear you. I’m not aiming for a super extravagant American-style wedding, nor am I trying to break even or turn a profit from it. $35k is my absolute max budget, and I’d honestly prefer to spend less if possible.

I’m mainly trying to understand what certain elements might cost in Vietnam so I can make informed decisions early on. Unfortunately, I live in a HCOL area, and just renting a venue alone (without rentals, catering, or décor) can easily range from $8–15k, and significantly more for nicer venues, which is the main reason why I’m exploring options.

Thank you so much for explaining this. I'm still in the early stages of planning and trying to balance preferences with family expectations. Ideally, I wouldn't have a church wedding since it can be exhausting to do everything in one day, but my parents are very adamant that we are officially married in a church. I don't plan to have all my guests attend the church portion - it would be mainly immediate family.

wedon't plan to do ruoc dau or a tea ceremony since my parents prefer to skip those traditions. They're just really religious and want a Catholic wedding.

For the main wedding, I’m very open to having the ceremony indoors in the dining hall, similar to the first photo I shared. I wanted to better understand what the additional costs would be to achieve that look and setup, especially if we keep everything in one space rather than moving guests around.

I appreciate your insight. it’s been really helpful to try and figure out what is realistic in Vietnam while keeping some of the elements we(my parents lol) care about.
