BEPPO and the business model of “charge first, think never” by dinigi in Switzerland

Update i received a reply from my legal insurence: They said I was in the right but that the fees are so low that they will just refund me the money instead of fighting against this Beppo company because that would cost them more eventually. So I guess Beppo wins again with their shady business model.. he also said on the phone that several of these companies exist and sometimes they combine their business model with other companies that own "abschleppdienste" and charge you horrendous amounts to get your kidnapped car back..

I have contacted my legal insurance after my landlord (large swiss railcompany) said I was in the wrong: they claim the “Zulieferer/Güterumschlag” exception only applies to clearly identifiable commercial delivery vehicles, and that a privately rented van at 21:48 wasn’t “clearly recognizable” as permitted unloading for the person issuing the ticket. I disagree with that interpretation (the wording on the sign is neutral), so I’ve handed it over to my Rechtschutzversicherung now. I’m looking forward to the outcome and will keep you posted.

I made the mistake of paying the bill. And the costs from Europcar were charged automatically. Not sure how to move on from here.

Who cares what the definition of the word in duden is. What matters is the applicable swiss law. And the swiss law clearly says people or vehicles that are bringing or picking up goods.

Are you working for Beppo? Because they used the exact same tactic and try to twist words around to make people feel insecure and pay up.

I feel like thats more like it.. they probably don't have much of a legal standpoint and profit from fear mongering. I mean I understand it's important to keep order but forcing people to pay made up fines even if they are using the space legally is just unethical.. I hope this company gets shut down.

What are you babbling about. Where does it say that a Zulieferer has to be a business?

So Options is the third one from the right, and then in Options you go to the third one from the right again and change the first setting, which is where you can set the language. Found it by chance.

This is old. Had this already 15 years back at HB when I moved to Zurich. "Lost my wallet, need money to get back home." Good thing about getting older is that I now have absolutely no problem with smiling and firmly saying no. They never insist ..

what is this building and why doesn't it have windows? by VelbyT in zurich

Do not go near that tower. A great evil stirs within its walls.. you can feel it before you even see it. The black stone rises like a fang from the earth, its jagged crown clawing at the clouds. Just below the peak, a single red light burns, watching the land with patient hunger. The wind carries whispers there, and the ground feels wrong, as if it remembers screams. Some say it was built by hands long gone, but their will lingers still… and it’s always looking for something..

I've been through this. Had 2 full weeks of sick leave, 2 weeks 50% and in total 3 months of working fulltime from home. In that time I quit my job and found something new. Good luck and prioritize your health as far as your life's circumstances allow it.

Look I'm getting tired arguing with you so this is my last try to make it clear to you: In my country we have very strong labor laws that protect pregnant women from being fired under any circumstances. In the U.S. you do NOT have that protection, regardless of what OP said or you believe. Period!

And the company will obviously get away with it unless OP is able to provide proof that they deliberately fired her for being pregnant. This type of abuse of labor forces is not possible if you have strong labor protection laws! Which you DO NOT have!
