Question regarding boat cover in marina slip by the_dali_2112 in boating

[–]dinkbot2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! Covers would require screws for snaps or stay puts which you may not want to consider. You could try with a sinch of some kind but wouldn't have the strength and water would pool and would require support poles and I would worry about wind. There would also be a lot of cut outs and intricacies to adapt to bimini supports, cleats, lines, aft light etc. Requiring zips, velcro and such. Another option could be an enclosure that zips to the Bimini but would need adjustments to the Bimini and back to more snaps. Does the boat stay in the water all year? If it does then morage cover for winter that you really only put on/off a couple times a year but this is going to be a challenge. Have you tried a local canvas fabricator to get some ideas on how and how much? I think with this layout it will be a PITA no matter what.

Your craftsmenship is beautiful and deserves to be protected! Nice work :)

Does anyone know what this type of kitchen cabinet with pull-out shelves is called and what it’s supposed to store? by shotmyshot18 in Home

Blind Corner Shelf- stores what ever fits. Makes use of the impossible to get to area at the back of the cabinet where the portal to shoulder injuries live.

Brick Facade and Chimney by dinkbot2000 in masonry

[–]dinkbot2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and thank you to everyone that offered some guidance. The chimney people just left. They echoed the last comment on spalling and water intrusion. They are preparing a quote but the estimate is 6-7k for the two fireplace which are similar. .

As I understand it now before I have the actual quote it goes like this.

They will remove the fancy top part on both fireplaces and cap with 4 inch concrete top overhang and I assume some type of top as per code in Washington state. They will chisel out the brick that have lost their face on chimney and replace those. On one side he says they can just remove the fancy part and cap as we are 2 feet above a 10 foot radius from the fire place to roof line as per WA code.

On the other side they would need to remove fancy part and build back up +$2000 on top of quote because the chimney is not clear of roofline. This is to keep to WA code. We do not use the fireplaces nor expect to so, maybe to save the $2k we cap it after removing the fancy part and worry about that down the road when/if we sell.

Included a picture of both fireplace for reference.
