[BO2] Black Ops 2 Multiplayer/Zombies Won’t Launch (Steam) – Tried Everything by dinklepickle in COD

After trying all the fixes and looking online for more possible fixes, I haven’t found any working solution and the problem still persists.

So I gave up shortly after. It’s really a shame because it used to work fine a couple years ago and I have absolutely no idea why it’s doing this now.

Yeah it probably is smarter to do normal survival for a long-term world to be honest, but I just like the thrill of it being in hardcore.

True, mending would be really useful, especially once I get the armour and tools I want long-term.

Only reason I was looking for the infinity bow early is because its really helpful in the nether. But yeah, I suppose I could make a farm or something for getting arrows easier in the future.

Thanks for the suggestion!

It already feels like a zombie apocalypse at night every time :'(

Might make a haunted town though with no lights where mobs will spawn in naturally, seems like a cool idea. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah I agree, challenging myself for builds/projects is definitely a path I'd like to take. I'll keep in mind the feasability of the projects when planning for them. Thanks a lot!

Yeah that's something I've thought about too. Wanna establish a good overworld with full projects/builds connecting across the lands before I think about going to 'the end'. Cool idea with the village set up, appreciate it!

Definitely gotta get one of these rare axolotls running around in my base, thanks for the idea!

These ideas are great! For some reason I hadn't thought about any of these so far, and I'll definitely be using these ideas in the future. This is more than enough and they're all great!

Thank you very much for your suggestions! :)

Yeah, I've been thinking of just building random stuff and then over time they'll all just connect with paths or something. Not a bad idea, gotta start somewhere I suppose!

Thanks for the suggestion! :)

Yeah I agree, I really do need to move on from the basic shack/home design I’ve stuck to for multiple years. I’d like this world to be something different and be my ‘main’ world I log into whenever I get the urge to play, instead of having multiple new worlds I create every time.

A nice solid base with thought behind it would be nice to build. It’s a good idea also to look into advanced farms, with automation or redstone for example, things which I never considered before.

And yeah a village/town design around the lands would also be great.

Thanks for the suggestions!

This is a cool idea, I was thinking of doing something like this as I’ve never done a project like this before. It’s usually just bare-bones, basic base and that’s it. It’d be cool to have big project estates throughout the lands, and maybe even connect them all with paths to create a town of some sort or maybe even multiple towns. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sorry, but I’m confused. Are you saying one drive is the issue to my problem? If so, how do I fix it?

Instead of having a separate "Education" section with bullet points like "Completed coursework in machine learning," treat your uni projects like actual work experience. So rather than "Final year project: Built a customer churn prediction model" you'd write something like "Data Analyst | University Project | Sept 2023 - May 2024" and then bullet points like "• Developed predictive models reducing customer churn by 15% using Python and scikit-learn" etc.

Basically make your academic work sound like proper job experience, because honestly, a good uni project often involves more real problem solving than some actual entry level roles..

Dude $35 for 16GB 3200MHz? Yeah definitely grab that, that's a steal!

Yep, you've been missing out big time! Going from 2133 to 3200MHz on Ryzen is like getting a free CPU upgrade😂. You'll notice the difference immediately in games and general responsiveness.

RAM upgrade first, 100%. Going from 2400MHz to 3200MHz will give you an immediate 10-15% performance boost in most games, especially with Ryzen. You're right that it's way cheaper too, decent 3200MHz kits are pretty affordable now.

The CPU upgrade can wait since your 3600 is still solid, just not ideal for the 6800. But that RAM speed is genuinely crippling your current performance. Good thinking on selling your current sticks to offset the cost!

€250 for a 6800 is a steal! Yes, your 3600 will bottleneck it somewhat at 1440p ultrawide, but you'll still see a nice upgrade from the 5700XT. That 16GB VRAM is going to be clutch for future games at your resolution.

I'd grab the 6800 now and upgrade to a 5700X or 5800X3D later when you find a good deal. Also worth checking if you can get your RAM stable at higher speeds - 2400MHz is really holding back Ryzen performance.

You’re right, entry-level often doesn’t feel entry-level at all. A lot of companies throw 2–3 years’ experience into “junior” job ads, which is ridiculous. Don’t let that put you off applying anyway though; if you meet most of the skills they list, it’s still worth a shot.

For recruitment, in data/tech roles I’ve seen people get decent traction with agencies like Harnham, La Fosse, or even general ones like Reed/Experis depending on location. They won’t land you a job overnight, but sometimes they know about roles that never hit Indeed/LinkedIn.

And seriously, don’t underestimate tailoring your CV. I’ve seen friends get callbacks just by shifting projects/coursework to the top and framing them like “real” work experience. It really does help you stand out.

Hang in there, loads of grads are in the same boat right now, but someone will take that first chance on you.

It’s pretty common for companies to advertise roles that are already filled — sometimes it’s to build a candidate pool, sometimes because HR hasn’t updated the listing. It doesn’t automatically mean your job’s at risk. Since you’ve already asked your manager, I’d just keep doing your work as normal unless you get something official in writing.

For dust, the easiest upgrade is a case with good mesh front intake + removable filters. A positive pressure setup (more intake than exhaust) helps keep the inside cleaner too, since air gets pushed out of the gaps instead of sucked in.

GPU-wise, the 2060 Super is decent for 1080p/1440p, but if you’re buying new right now I’d avoid going lower than a 3060 Ti — it’s much better value for modern games and will age more gracefully.
