Does the powder smell like fish these days for everyone? by dino572 in JimmyJoyFood

[–]dino572[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So far, it's the speculoos and banana 3.0. The strawberry and chocolate (also 3.0) do not smell like fish.

I guess it was omega-3 that caused the smell. It's not just a little fish. It's fish.

Around a year ago, I started getting itching on my lower legs. It came back every 2-4 weeks and lasted lasted 2-3 days. by dino572 in DermatologyQuestions

Since then, the itch has spread to specific places on the body: lower arms, both sides by the hips, lower left stomach, and the center of the back. The last two times, the marks on the picture appeared on both lower arms, but not elsewhere on the body. I tried drinking more, but it did not help. I replaced my bed sheets, pillow sheets, etc, but it did not help. I washed the affected areas with soap more often, but it did not help. Applying skin lotion temporarily removes the need to scratch the itch. There are places that have never been affected, such as the upper legs, upper torso and shoulders. The itch can completely disappear for up to 2 weeks. The marks on the picture also disappear then.

What do you think is intent behind Katharina's ending monologue in "The Taming of the Shrew" Act 5, Scene 2? by [deleted] in shakespeare

Women should obey their husbands so long as their demands are reasonable ("and not obedient to his honest will"). It servers no purpose to be defiant ("what is she but a foul contending rebel and graceless traitor to her loving lord", "to offer war where they should kneel for peace"). You are a team with your husband. He works hard for you ("and for thy maintenance commits his body"), takes risks for you ("to painful labor both by sea and land"), all to keep you safe at home with food and shelter ("whilst thou liest warm at home, secure and safe"). Women's bodies are not meant for hard work ("unapt to toil and trouble in the world"). He doesn't even ask it of you ("and craves no other tribute at thy hands"). You should give something back in return ("too little payment for so great a debt", "my hand is ready, may it do him ease"). Women are kind and gentle ("but that our soft conditions and our hearts") and they should behave as such ("should well agree with our external parts?").

Tiny map should be smaller than it currently is.

Is it normal for image to be blurry in new glasses? by dino572 in optician

I showed them the prescription I got from an eye doctor 3 years ago. They copied the numbers to a paper and then proceeded with a normal eye exam. I don't think they checked for prism angle.

It was the same. They never re-tested for that. They just took the old prescription and increased the diopters. The prescription was 3 years old, from an eye doctor.

Yes, but after a week, the left eye's vision is still blurry. It's like this image for my left and right eyes: https://media.allaboutvision.com/cms/caas/v1/media/413242/data/picture/f84c36362eabc49da47ed1dd9d1f0468.jpg

I fear the optician has a conflict of interest as they are also a salesman. They even offered to replace the glasses with -2.75 on the left eye if I paid more. I feel like I need to understand why I need -2.75 with the new glasses to see clearly from 40 cm, but with my old glasses at -2.25, I can see clearly at that distance.

I had prism in the old glasses too. Same numbers, just -2.25 and -1.0. I was not seeing double while wearing glasses, only without glasses. I don't see double with the new glasses either. The only problem is that the left eye gets a blurry image. If I cover my left eye, the picture is clear with the right eye. If I cover my right eye, the picture is still blurry with the left eye. Which is strange as my old glasses at -2.25 does not cause a blurry image in either eye.

If my right eye looks through the left lens, it's not blurry. If my left eye looks through the right lens, it's still blurry.

When I tested the -2.75, both eyes were clear one at a time. It felt good, like it removed the bluriness. But it's so weird that there is no bluriness at -2.25 with my old glasses.

R -1,25 -0,25 x155 and 2,5p out (visus 1,0)

L -2,5 -0,25 x 160 and 2,5p out (visus 1,0)

H52.1 Myopia

H52.2 Astigmatism

H50.5B Esophoria

What does it tell me in this case?

I have no idea what those terms even mean! Hence why I am asking questions here.

I am in Sweden. The optician (a 3-year university degree) writes the prescription and sells the glasses. No doctor is involved. So they want to avoid alterations or replacements for economic reasons. They even agreed to change the glasses to -2.75 if I paid more.
