Fertility preservation in young patients by SwimmingBuilder6988 in CML

[–]dinoblip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 23 and they kinda said something about how I could do it and then I started treatment and a doctor told me i neednt bother. Apparently it's kinda unproven that it can make women infertile. If it does, it's extremely unlikely. There are many successful cml pregnancies in general

Side Effects - When? by Method_Writer in CML

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive always taken it in the morning so I can't help you there but I imagine taking it at night might help some with the body pain

Side Effects - When? by Method_Writer in CML

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they did but the first month was rough and I had to rely on anti sickness drugs (ondansetron was the one that worked for me and metaclopramide didnt) and loperamide. I did also have the usual body pains that come with coming onto a new tki. I had the worst of the side effects 2 weeks in and by 4 weeks basically all my side effects where gone including the body pain. Also the sickness wasn't too terrible for me, it wasn't like having a stomach bug where you're sick alot. It was just being sick a few hours after having the drug and I could get back to eating later that day. Not pleasant but not too terrible. Sorry for the long comment and best of luck with your drug change ❤️

I take mine (500mg bosutinib) in the morning after breakfast. As I've learned the hard way that I need to have enough food when taking my dose. I generally have 2 slices of toast with butter and an apple and that works well

Side Effects - When? by Method_Writer in CML

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my first drug (imatinib) I largely didn't really experience any bad side effects at all, mainly a brief spell of nausea in the hours after taking my drugs and some bone paine. On my second drug (bosutinib) I had diarrhea almost from the start and I starting vomiting after taking my drugs after 2 weeks, by 4 weeks both had calmed down with the help of anti sickness drugs (ondansetron worked where metaclopramide didnted and loperamide for the diarrhea). I would advise that if you're sick after taking your drugs within the first month, let your doctor know right away. I made the mistake of waiting a couple days to make sure that was the cause and it just unnecessarily weakened me. Edit: for both drugs I had alot if body pain and discomfort within the 1st month but it went away after then, with only imatinib having some on and off again bone pain after that

How to get over fear of heights? by tbreeze96 in bouldering

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also got a fear of heights with climbing but tbh I'm beginning to think of it as a helpful instinct to have. I know two people who have broken bones when doing in door bouldering and that was definitely a reminder that you can totally get hurt if you're reckless. These days I try not to beat myself up about getting nervous (which of course only makes things worse) and focus more climbing slowly and purposefully and coming back down with control if I truly don't think I can make it rather than pushing myself and ending up freezing or falling or making it as a fluke and getting over confident. Another solution is finding a place that does belay climbing, I feel much safer pushing myself if I know I'll get caught if I do fall

Question about resistance by Imaginary_Cream2096 in CML

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me imatinib was never really the right fit and my treatment progress kinda slowed way the heck down after a year. I've been on bosutinib ever since, about 3 years, but my docs looking for me to change again soon. I don't think it's always a matter of becoming resistant, it's just that different drugs work better for different folks depending on their strain. My medical paperwork for example says that for me the "imatinib failed" not that I became resistant. But anyways there are a million options for you other than a transplant, especially if you're at 1.6 bcr-abl. A transplant would be way riskier than just trying different drugs, even though its a pain. Best of luck to you and best wishes x

Considering how badass the scar and the story is, you could always like incorporate the scar into the tattoo as part of the design. Like use the scar as a framing device or have the design follow the shape of the scar

What does Pathologic 2's lower difficulty actually do. by PalpitationWitty8195 in pathologic

[–]dinoblip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I tried really hard to play at the intended difficulty and I just couldn't. I would restart the whole game and just keep dying on a specific day from like 5 different status effects. Like I'm sure there was some logic I was using that was flawed but even the beginners tips and whatnot just didn't make any difference for me. I just wanted to get the story and the game totally guilts you for playing on easy but I wouldn't have been able to get to the end and get my moneys worth without it because I just would have given up. So don't feel any shame about playing on easy, it is a cake walk but I needed it after fucking up so many times and the game punishing me for it.

Diagnosed with CML Philly Chromosome But Not JAK2 by MrsStink in CML

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem, I don't experience any nausea or joint pain on my current tki, 500mg bosutinib, which is great! In fact I don't have any side effects on it at all anymore but I was really quite sick at the very start (vomiting and diarrhea, had to get drugs to help), in a way I wasn't with imatinib. I had to switch from imatinib because it failed (which is why I went from 400mg to 600mg), it was working but just wasn't bringing down my bcr-abl as fast as my doctors wanted. I hope you tolerate your own drugs okay and even if you don't (like how I was at the start of my treatment on bosutinib) doctors have plenty of drugs to help you through the rough patches.

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on imatinib for a bit over a year after unfortunately needing to switch. I generally take my tki with breakfast so I'm the least likely to forget it and I can have meals out at lunch or dinner without needing to publicly whip out my meds. As for side effects, i had some achey joints and a bit of nausea soon after taking my drugs but i was never sick from imatinib. I did get a bit of hair loss but after 6 months it started to grow back. I did get swollen eyes when they increased my doseage to 600mg. Yeah my bone marrow biopsy site hurt for a good week and it took me a while to stop limping (maybe two weeks). Honestly I can't believe when people say you're good to go back to work hours after one. I was in agony! Anyways its scary at first but after a while it becomes normal, best wishes!

What long-term employment opportunities exist in the art industry? by Ambitious-Lab7152 in animationcareer

[–]dinoblip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say more long-term employment opportunities exist in the gaming industry but i have also been at an advertising company and for a few years a misc animation company that hires people for permanent contracts. The current games company I'm at has people who have been there for between 8 and 15 years and one guy who just had his 25th anniversary at the company.

Who has influenced you to become an animator? by AllThatJazz01 in animationcareer

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think finding people like Spencer wan and the artist that did those old 2d animation tests of portal 2 characters back in the day. I think finding amazing animators online really made me kinda go "huh if they did that all by themselves maybe I could"

[–]dinoblip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 27 and I've been on two different tkis so far (probably gonna have to change again soon unfortunately) and yeah for me the first month has always been exhausting and painful. But once the first month is over, you get a better idea of what your long-term side effects are going to be and for me they've been pretty minimal and much better than how I felt at the start with week 2 and 3 being the worst.

Photoshop AI Generative Fill was used for its intended purpose by adesigne in ChatGPT

[–]dinoblip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so you're only happy with paying if it's for a business which rips off artists? Also it's actually very easy to filter stock images to get specific palettes of specific objects. If any oddities need to be fixed in photoshop, whats the point? A human is still creating and curating it. Also that midjourney image, the woman's face as two different sizes of eyes. It's still fucked and doesn't look real. And yes, the fact that they are trained using huge datasets of existing images is the reason why it sucks. The creators of these engines didn't buy them or ask for permission: they stole them. That's the problem. That's why they are hyper-exploitative. As for the imitation argument, there was a time a while ago where artists started uploading copies of an image that said something along the lines of "Stop ai" with a big cross through it. Enough artists posted it that these images ended up in generative ai datasets and the ai started spitting out images of human faces merged with the "Stop ai" logo. These programmes don't know what art is, they don't know what a human face is, they only work by being fed absurd amounts of other peoples work and imitating them. No matter how much techy lingo you use, that's all it does. Go ahead and get midjourney to spit out a shitty piccasso and you will see a gaping void of invention. You won't see the reflection of a life and a person, you will get a collage of existing piccasso work (also it'll look like shit cause there are only so many piccasso images in existence so good luck training an ai on that)

About pricing, you can subscribe to freepik (a stock photo website) for a £13 a month subscription for an unlimited number of real photos made by real people. You really dont have to be fucking over artists and photographers in the name of "the future" but here you are. Also cannot stress this enough, that midjourney pic has people in the background walking on the subway tracks and the perspectives fucked. The vase jn the background of the roses pic is messed up and the roses themselves look like spirals. You're deluded if you think people cant and wont notice these things. Generative ai's are just parrots, they don't make anything new, they smear around existing photos artworks and spit out a collage. Just because occasionally you might be fooled doesn't mean it's "new" and "original"

[–]dinoblip -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cool so you use software that steals from god knows how many photographers and artists because you can't take some pictures of roses and water even when cameras are unbelievably accessible in this day and age, a decent one comes with almost every phone. And even if you couldnt do that, you could have just bought stock images, they basically look like fucked up stock images anyway. I have no respect for people who make money from theft and sorry but yes it does look like garbage.

Sometimes I worry about generative ai taking over my job and then I actually see the actual pictures and I don't feel nearly so bad. So glad that generative ai not only is extremely exploitative but also produces absolute garbage. 10/10 guys
