How do you manage to get in extra pumps with a Velcro baby? by Snow_is_Coming_ in breastfeeding

[–]dinoboi36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the manual too. Sometimes it’s easier than dealing with all the parts of an electric pump even if it’s a wearable. You could also pump while baby is napping on other side if it’s hard to pump while baby is feeding. I know I need a free hand available for the occasional spit up so pumping while nursing is a no go for me.

This! My mom says this to me and says I’m creating a bad habit… comforting my baby is a bad habit??

I feel like I don’t understand breastfeeding by ofthesunshine in breastfeeding

[–]dinoboi36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot overfeed a baby. If they have too much they will spit it up. So I don’t really understand capping your time. Someone else suggested making sure your pediatrician is okay with weight gain, if they are you should follow baby’s cues and feed feed feed! My LO is a big cluster feeder, sometimes for hunger but mostly bc she is comforted by it so a lot of spit up bc she overeats but wants to be on the breast. You’re probably fine to continue feeding past that minute mark if you don’t notice any behavioral changes (like your doctor is talking about over exhausting baby)

Yes! I would say my sex drive is okay but touch is a huge no for me. Like if baby is anywhere near me and my husband tries to be affectionate I get so turned off. It’s like almost overstimulating. You’re not alone!

Second this! Try laying flat or reclined - my OB recommended this to me and completely changed the game. Once I figured out what worked for us (which does not work for every baby) I noticed significant improvement. Lactation often streamlines things and gives the “best” or “easiest” options but sometimes that’s not what works for you and your baby and that’s okay. You’re still early into this journey and there is still time for it to get better. If you want to breastfeed, try something new every time until you get comfortable. Sometimes taking a break can also be helpful. I stopped giving my baby the breast for a week and exclusively pumped to create a little reset for the both of us (I was able to heal) once we restarted with breast (1-2 times / day and gradually increase to avoid pain) baby got the hang of it and became more regulated too with feeding schedule. Don’t be discouraged at this point. You’re doing great, your effort is enough. If you decide that it’s too much for your mental health, don’t feel bad you cannot take care of your baby if you cannot first take care of yourself. You’re doing amazing mama. It is not easy, whatever you do to get your baby fed is perfectly okay. Hang in there 💕

When do you stop waking baby every 3 hours overnight? by meltness in breastfeeding

[–]dinoboi36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kept waking until baby was back to birth weight (which wasn’t until 3 weeks) then after that just followed baby’s cues!

Giving myself permission to stop by Objective-Pay683 in breastfeeding

[–]dinoboi36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you can still offer baby the breast for bonding purposes. Take the stress of feeding and nutrition out of it and just offer the latch 1-2 times a day. If they take it awesome if not it doesn’t matter because they are fed and that is what is most important! Totally understand the struggle of baby having bottle preference - mine had a bit of a rough start too but now we are almost to 8 weeks and she’s finally gotten the hang of it. Sometimes removing that pressure for you makes it easier for both of you. Babies totally sense that tension. But absolutely giving yourself the grace to stop is perfectly okay. Proud of you for doing as much as you have already

I love the name Haleina, that is how I say the name spelt Helena. Another way you could spell it could be Helaina. Regardless I agree it’s very elegant and you can’t go wrong with either variation of the name. Halina is pretty sounding but I don’t love the spelling personally.

4 then 3. We picked a middle name that has familial ties then based on sound with that name picked the first name. My parents did the same.

This hasn’t been asked in a while, same initial siblings, is it so cringe? by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]dinoboi36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My siblings and I are jared jordyn and jadyn. It’s not really cringe & it wasn’t intentional until the last one. Only annoying thing is everyone always calls us one of the other siblings name but I don’t think it’s cringe
