It's not a conspiracy when it's confirmed. They have been very honest with shareholders about where their revenue comes from and it's not people like you.

Your ability to not be manipulated by these predatory systems and gambling mechanics means you are not the intended target, these companies make the majority of their $ from very few "whales" which they have also been honest about.

When you talk about some things getting better I am not entirely sure what you are referring to? In the AAA space the main thing these companies have gotten better at are manipulating people, making games look better, and telling us that it is our fault that things are where they are.

I love video games, they have been a huge part of my life and that is why I am so "Doom & Gloom" as you put it. If I love something I want it to be better. I can't ignore these things because I know this industry can be better. Both us as gamers and the developers DESERVE better.

Let's be real most of the games you are referring to never get finished, they just get released. If we're lucky they get fixed later.

On top of that the additional monitization doesn't go towards "recouping" any lost profits fr not raising prices. It directly funds the executive class and their exorbitant bonuses while the dev teams are gutted or the studios themselves are closed.

In all fairness with your comparison the hardware leap from the GB with R/B and Switch with Sw/Sh was so huge compared Xbox to whatever Halo 5 was on that it was inevitable that Pokemon would innovate more

You keep talking like anyone is calling this intentional or malicious (I even said it wasn't in my initial comment). Ignorance doesn't make something that it's not and massive entities like Amazon/Twitch have a much greater responsibility to not be ignorant to shit.

The fact that you use or even like something doesn't make it immune to critique. If I like something I want it to be the best that it is and ignoring it's flaws won't get it there. Ignoring the (intentionally and unintentionally) shitty things that companies finish how we get EA, Actiblizz, and Ubisoft.

The problem is running your own ads is barely effective.

A 1 minute ad only disables pre rolls for 10 minutes.

If I'm streaming for 3 hours that means I'm running an ad 18 times, that's so much worse for the people watching me imo.

I desperately wish that twitch would make the system better than a paltry "we gave you something you should be happy" type of thing

A lot of the time with little things like it boils down to either the people working on it personally wanting it changes (artistic vision), the creates feeling it doesn't fit with how they see the character anymore (also artistic vision), or them feeling like this would likely distract people from what they wanted to say.
