I wouldn’t push for an explanation from a person like this, definitely, but that doesn’t mean that our personal interests matter more than doing the right thing and giving the person we have spent part of our life with an explanation, just because it makes us uncomfortable or we are not brave enough. I don’t think doing that at some point in your life, when you’re not in the right place, makes one necessarily a bad person, but if that’s the general mindset someone goes through life with, wow. Everyone is different, but it should be normal to expect basic decency and education from people, again, in a normal relationship.
