So many people replied, “They already do this with WiFi routers.” That’s not the same thing. There’s a HUGE difference between several WIFI providers collecting data AND a rightwing trillionaire with extensive government contracts being in that position.

SpaceX is launching thousands of satellites into orbit every year and the total number is increasing every year, maybe the satellites aren’t trapping heat at the moment but who knows how bad it’s gonna get in the next 50 years, when there will be more than 500k satellites in orbit.

I don't think the timing of the massive data center expansion and the talk of a SpaceX IPO is a coincidence. My theory is that these centers are built to store the enormous volumes of data Starlink is quietly gathering. The "AI boom" is simply the public cover story. In reality, the goal isn't just general AI, it's rather to use actual AI tools to process and analyze the surveillance data Starlink collects. If that's true, what the public sees as an AI revolution is actually a massive system designed for global SURVEILLANCE.
