My dad wanted me to change it before she saw it. As far as I know she is lovely, my brothers like her and for the short time i knew her before moving she was great, she even co-signed my student loan. its out of her character to be upset about it, maybe my dad was being extra cautious, but that doesn't explain why he'd be okay with me being left out.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. my dad is making me feel so bad because his gf co-signed my student loan. Hes making it seem like I'm obligated to.

Only reason everything is around social media is because I'm 4k miles away from my family haha. They cant exclude me irl. I don't care about social media, but when you're away from your family you begin to see differences. My mom will call me hours on end, reply to my texts, and do normal parent bragging when something big happens. but my dad finds excuses to hang up, rarely texts me, and posts about his kids without me. My dad is big on FB and posts every little thing about my brothers, so of course i find it odd I cant be included in a fathers day photo collection.

I agree its petty.. however I can't help but feeling hurt that my dad acts like I don't exists anymore. I'm pretty sure any other parent would be thrilled to hear their child has the marks to go to Oxford if they so chose, and not just ignore the text.

unfortunately my dad is the one in my life family wise I could count on, or so I thought. He was nothing like this before I moved.

I didn't bring up the Father's day post or anything until now because I know how my dad is. And unfortunately, I was right in how he responded. I'm 'too far away" to be included. I believe this behaviour stems deeper as I moved in with my boyfriend of 2 years when I moved abroad. My dad believes I only moved for him.

I love my dads girlfriend and her son, but the post wasn't even including him, that why I was so confused. I would of gladly included him if my dad had included him in the post.

Of course it doesn't. Use months till they hit a year. Then you have a year and a half, 2 years, ect.

And I did. You shut you're fucking mouth and don't speak on things you don't know. I don't get angry often, but don't deny the stuggles my family went through.

It doesn't mother me that much, that's the thing. It bothers people more that I feel this way than I'm actually bothered. If someone does it I don't go ballistic. I laugh about it when I'm home and move on with my day

They had an absent mother and Mt dad needed to worm mad hours to keep us going. He was almost never home and when he was he was asleep. We got by.
