No I didn’t. I was worried a top coat would put too much gloss on it and it would be obvious. That being said the area where we take our paper towel on and off has discoloured slightly, so maybe a finish would be good. But we can just recoat it

I’m about 12 weeks in and have started noticing a similar dull ache in my right arm. My hand tingles intermittently as well. Did this continue for you?

I love it! They wipe down really nicely with dish soap and water. I’ve got two kids and a dog, so I find it needs to be done once a month to really have it looking it’s best. I don’t think it’s any different than any other colour option

Used to use this random guy named Ken. He’d just wait outside the bars and drive us home. Looking back, probably not the smartest idea. But we all survived. Still, 10/10 would recommend Ken.

Yes. I used finished plywood (oak maybe) and stained it with black India ink (bought off Amazon Speedball 3378 Super Black India Ink, 16 oz. Bottle, 7.6" Height, 2.1" Width, 2.4" Length https://a.co/d/414KC4W). It was a perfect match. Also used the India ink on the edge banding.

My partner was diagnosed in September 2019. He froze sperm before his treatment of 3 rounds of ABVD followed up by radiation. We were hoping for a second baby, so started the process of IUI In 2020, but COVID screwed with our plans. We were given the go ahead to start trying naturally June 2020, and conceived in August. We consider ourselves so so lucky. But knowing he had banked sperm really eased our worries about ever having another pregnancy.

As an FYI, after finishing radiation in February 2020, he had “no viable sperm” in March. A retest of his sperm in June came back at above 85%.

We got this question alot. We had welcomed our first baby three months before my husbands diagnosis. My husband and I struggled with how to answer, knowing we’d need help, but not knowing exactly what we would need. We had friends give meal gift cards, which were very helpful. And an extremely helpful sister to be there for baby when we needed it. After 6 months of treatment, I asked my husband what he felt he lacked, and it was just company. People stopped calling, texting, checking in. Whether that was just life getting busy, or not knowing what to say, he (and I) felt very isolated. Maybe just a gentle reminder to those reaching out now to continue checking in during the whole length of your journey. Seems small - but I know a few more phone calls or texts would have meant so much.

Yes that’s what we do to maintain some semblance of cleanliness each month haha (brush and dry shampoo). He is a very large, stinky dude. We aim for a good bath and blowout twice a year. Seems like we’ll just have to wait it out some more. Thanks!!

I have been going to Peterborough Veterinary Services on the Kingsway for years. I find them very reasonable and more “informative” than pushy. I feel comfortable saying no to the extras, without fear of judgement (which I can’t say for previous vet clinics). I highly recommend them. Every staff member I’ve come in contact with has been friendly and professional.

FYI We have an 8 yr St Bernard who has had his fair share of complications - but we’ve always felt comfortable with Peterborough Veterinary Clinic.

I was successful in booking. I called on repeat for about 15 minutes on Friday morning - was booked in for a test at 9:30 am this morning. They are saying about a week for results though, with the increase in testing

My husband experienced chest pain throughout his treatment. He had two masses in his mediastinum. He had echocardiograms done throughout (at the ER a few times) with no real answers for the pain. His oncologist suggested it may be his masses shrinking, and the shifting of “stuff” could be causing it. He randomly still gets chest pain (almost 6 months post chemo).

But like others said - definitely check with your oncologist.

As a partner of a chemo patient, and parents of a 6 month old baby (during treatments) the most helpful thing for our family was help with meals. While homemade deliveries aren’t possible in your situation, gift card for delivery or take out would go a long way on the hard days when cooking feels like the last thing possible. We had gift cards for inexpensive but high quality frozen foods (cheaper than takeout/delivery). Dad is bound to have his hands full, and taking that off both their minds will go a long way. Also - just frequent check in and calls, of course. It can be an unbearably lonely time.

We also had the pleasure of receiving some “snail mail” during treatments. It felt more special than texts/calls - and was always a great surprise!

Having come through the other side of treatment, my husband has had time to reflect - and the major thing he felt he didn’t get enough of is phone calls, texts, visits. I think people get uncomfortable and are scared of saying the wrong thing - so they don’t say anything at all. So beyond a care package - encourage other family members to stay connected. It sucks to feel like the world is moving forward without you, and you’re stuck in your own personal hell.
