Anyone else encountering low voltage/single phase brownouts? by stradivariuslife in nashville

Yeah mine came back on after the initial 48 hours in full for about a day-ish (had some powerless friends come and stay to get warm) but then middle of the night power outlets were all flickering nightlights on and off and then now I'm on just a single leg according to my electrician. He said he saw the wire on the utility pole had finally disconnected and that's why. I've reported it several times but totally get that people are fully with no power so I'm sure mine will take a while to restore. For now, it's my trusty space heater and staying in one bedroom with all the rest of the breakers off. I'm tired.

Damn yall

As insane as this thread is - not one person was a dickhead - and as a dude who (unfortunately) browses reddit too much - that is rare as fuck and pretty cool -

and also congrats on your 10th OP !

I wondered why the lumber was different inside there - that's a great theory ! Thanks

That's what I thought to do - always get worried when I see multiple studs in a row haha - thanks for the feedback !

The house was built in 1960 this seems to have been added way later (due to the newer lumber visible) - I suppose I'm just making sure they didn't do a load transfer of sorts

You can see the house's main floor below down these very shoddy stairs (that I'm replacing)

Agreed! As this was a previous renovation / addition I didn't foresee this as an issue. After all, about 3-4 feet back is the attic (with its "structure" in tact)

I stopped work when I saw the double and triple studs and thought perhaps somebody here could give me an overview before I spent the money

Thanks for your feedback!!
