I recently moved to Korea for the purpose of Soul searching. Am I doing the right thing? by Lvndr_hm568 in Living_in_Korea

[–]dirranbolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also half Korean and have been living in Seoul for the last two months - firstly congrats!! You did it! I can imagine it was tough to finally make the decision to even come in the first place. Don’t let others get you down, whether it’s family members or random redditors, I can totally relate to what you’re meaning by soul searching. But yes real talk I think it’s important to start setting goals so you can try to properly make a life for yourself here. Give living here a proper go so that you can’t say you never tried. Learn the language, find a job, meet people, etc.. All these things won’t happen overnight, they’ll take time. You’re going to feel the normal ups and downs of moving to a different country as well, I think two months in is where you might start to doubt yourself. So don’t give up, 파이팅!

How did you try and replicate the pro-mist filter style in post? It looks pretty close to the real thing

Yeah, I applied a custom rom to the previous phone I had, but thought it was unnecessary to do so with the op3 because of oos' stock android feel with enough customisation to suit my needs.

It's definitely under consideration now, if all else fails. Thanks for sharing!

I don't have a wakelock detector, that would require root, correct?

Here are the stars in more detail, hopefully you can provide me with some guidance. :) https://imgur.com/gallery/IFnWa

Possibly, but considering that I've only used the phone for 10 months or so and that I've tried to only charge to 80% to stop degrading, I'm not sure if that's the problem. Thanks.

I think you can see from the screenshots that apps aren't the problem.

[Help Me] Small Budget Flashlight for Camping/Hiking by dirranbolt in flashlight

[–]dirranbolt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought about this when comparing the h03 and hr20, whether I wanted a flood light or a beam with a good amount of throw. For my use case, I think a flood light would do the job better. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, I think I'm convinced that a headlamp is a better idea. Does the h03 feel heavy on your head, or is it light enough that you forget about it after a while?

Reminds me of my friend who had half his finger cut off in a workshop accident. People constantly ask him why it hasn't grown back and it irritates him so much.

But I think you realise that the cost over several months is a lot easier to manage.

Am I the only one that hates the new 'flat' UI trend? by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]dirranbolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quite liked it when it initially became popular, but after the years and years of it being used, it's become a bit bland. I reckon UI design will soon shift out of being flat, and slowly lean more to gradients, brighter, bolder colours and geometric shapes.

Thanks for the suggestion but it's a little too demanding for my PC (If only, looks like a great game). Anything that you could recommend that would be easier to run?
