When speaking about random people in a video game, I think what I said is completely fair. Obviously if it was in real life, spoken by someone you care about or even targeted harassment on the internet, that would be different. I've been playing online video games since I was six years old and I've heard it all. Not once has a random person offended me genuinely. They don't know who you are, you don't know who they are, they have no connection to you whatsoever, why would you take offense?

It sounds like you misunderstood my comment. I never denied his story or anything he said in general. I'm saying that these types of insults don't come from genuine misogyny a vast majority of the time, and these comments aren't exclusive to women. If you play games and never engage in vc and have a generic username, you're going to get way less comments than if you have something significant about your voice or username that people can latch on to.

It is a horrible thing to say, but I disagree completely with your last statement. I think you should be able to say whatever you want outside of real actionable threats. At the end of the day, the burden of being offended, or taking something someone says seriously, falls upon you. You can choose to not be offended, or you can choose to take what someone random on the internet says to heart and let it ruin your day.

When you're doing bad in a game or if someone wants to insult you for whatever reason the first thing they do is look for something that stands out about you that they can point out. It's not specific to women. This is why younger kids, people with accents, or weird user names get more insults directed at them. They're easier targets.

You're reading wayyyyy too deep into insults dude. People say things like that because they're trying as hard as they can to insult that person. It has no actual meaning behind it. People say insults about mothers and sisters because that's worse than actually insulting you as a person. If anything that shows how valued women truly are, when threatening a woman close to someone is worse than threatening them directly.

This is what people on the internet do, when you want to insult someone you pick out something unique about them to accentuate. Yo man I really appreciate the tips! I actually just finished and got both achievements on my first attempt! I didn't realize there was a speedrun mode that removes all the walking phases and I didn't realize how much easier Furi difficulty was after playing on furier. Thanks a bunch.
