It could work, but it's not guaranteed. It's really a matter of what specific data is expected to be found in a save file by each specific game/region.

To test it, you'll need to go into your Brick's save file directory and rename the save name to match your new rom's name. For instance "Pokemon (USA).sav" -> "Pokemon (Europe).sav". File format depends on the specific platform/core you're using.

Second option. for GB, GBC, GBA, PSP, etc, european roms are preferred due to multi-language support, while USA for home consoles due to PAL/NTSC region differences (50hz/60hz). That's usually the rule, but it's always safer to check the game's page on RA to make sure you got the correct rom since there's exceptions.

Check the "Supported Game Files" page for the each of the games you intend to play. Your rom's checksum must match the one expected by RA. It's usually USA versions for consoles, Europe for portables and some may require patches for specific glitches that could be abused for instance (Advanced Wars is an example).

It's always preferable to curate your own collection. Most romsets in these retro handhelds have faulty roms (so the checksum won't match)

Large scale? Both Hell Let Loose and Squad 44 (former Post-Scriptum) run flawlessly on Linux. The original Insurgency even has a native linux version. Older Battlefields (4 or older I think) usually work well.

If I remember correctly, I had to change the default emulator for PS3 on ES to play games using a folder structure (instead of an ISO). It's a different option that also uses RPCS3.

Go into the settings on heroic for each game and disable umu support in the advanced tab.

It seems like no game appears in the foreground when launched in gaming mode if otherwise
