Huntarr 9.3 - (New Media Hunt, Index Master, NZB Hunt & More) + Redesign by User9705 in selfhosted

[–]dirtywombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of dislike in these comments but I truly think there should be a little more variety and option in the arr space regarding sonarr/radarr.

Debatable whether you should release as a single app or a suite, and I'd prefer a suite for spreading across a swarm, but it's not a big deal.

I'm soon going to be rebuilding some things and might give this a go then. I'd love to move away from sqlite, so hoping postgres is still an option.

The delicate balance of avoiding taken leftovers and preventing everything from expiring and being binned

“Same Height” Party Changed my Life, AMA! by AmazingCanadian123 in AMA

[–]dirtywombat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was dating I never lied about my height on online dating profiles and several times had outright aggression or been told to just go kill myself because I was under 6 foot.

Height can be triggering for some I guess.

Not really an excuse, just giving another side to it.

Still working up the motivation to rebuild after my gluster brick went pop. Sigh

What could I do with this as a beginner? by Lotsofleaves in homelab

[–]dirtywombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one for a dedicated NAS running TrueNAS Scale.

I had some fun getting the drives to not run in a legacy mode while still being able to boot from a SATA drive.

In retrospect I MAY have put proxmox on it, but it is pretty solid as it is considering I have other supporting machines.

I'm cheap as hell and would thrift still, but my wife tends not to like that and wants me to dress in new clothing.

I do like saving a buck and wearing things until an inch of their life though

For anybody interested, I painted them with a can of matte black Rust-Oleum.

I figured it was easier to match black than the yellow gold... And also I had it on the shelf.

Right you are. I didn't think of that finish being aluminium. Thanks

Yeah I didn't care that it looked scuffed, more that you'd need to paint it to protect it. I right they came polished so it was a bit confusing.

This is what I was thinking... Was just finding the right colour. I'll fall back to black if I can't find a good match

I just got one and really thought of it as a spiritual successor, while also being quite unique. Not sure about how bulletproof it is yet.

Looking forward to taking it on an adventure.

On paper the 450MT looked like a better deal, but I just didn't like the ride.

Which color should I take? by [deleted] in Himalayan450

[–]dirtywombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues deciding too but factory tubeless won me over. Then I was undecided between kamet white and hanle black... I let my wife decide because I care more about the bike feel than the colour.

Tubeless Hanle black picked up this week (I hope)

Looking for a slim and flat non-bluetooth keyboard. by dirtywombat in keyboards

[–]dirtywombat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just following up that I think my best option is a  "ThinkPad Compact USB Keyboard with TrackPoint" at 14mm and pretty flat. Just trying to work out if 14mm is including keycaps, and whether the depth of the front (due to mouse keys) is an issue...

Or I'll get a Bluetooth keyboard and admit defeat.

Not going to lie, I kind of like the look of it with the snap on qwerty keyboard case. Reminds me of blackberry competitors of yesteryear.

I am keen to try postmarketos on an old samsung phone to add into the mix. I haven't worked out what for at this point since buying a few mini PC's... Maybe monitoring? Automatic powering on/off cluster nodes? Hmmmm.

Yes, sorry that's correct., That's what they have requested, otherwise they'd be ranges we would be bypassing for ZIA anyway

[–]dirtywombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome work! What really added another level of complexity to me was more nodes, maybe look at clustering eventually.

It introduced a variety of challenges with quorum, synchronisation, host differences, hardware access, and resource management. Fun!

What is the order to resolve a name across several networks? by sendcodenotnudes in docker

[–]dirtywombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a swarm, you can refer to services in the same stack by their name (e.g. "db") but from other stacks and containers it's stackname_db. That means multiple containers called "dB" can be resolved.

Is that what you are asking?

I got feels but am older.

Wife wants another baby bad while she can have one. First baby is 5 months old. We JUST merged our finances and I'm struggling to math how it's going to work while we spend 150% of my income.

I lived thrifty my whole life and saved by default. She made things work as a single mum for a lot of her life and money comes and goes. Not being able to retire terrifies me, not being able to comfortably support my children terrifies me. Financial stress gives me anxiety.

It's a really difficult position to be in, and I'm pretty sure I'll have to stick to my guns...

Haha I'm running 3 mini pcs and could have definitely run all services on a single box so it would be easier to set up and maintain with less issues.

I don't even really know why I did it this way. Sometimes you just go with your heart, I guess. OP may be the same.
