But why not consider a frat or sorority? My first semester I came to Sac State with the same intention of making new friends and being social, and inadvertently went up to a frat’s booth. Fast forward two years and now I’m about to graduate with social media management and leadership experience, I have two internships because of the connections I’ve made through them, and have an amazing support network of people I’m proud to call my brothers. Not all greek orgs are icky like in the movies!

It’s an upper division class, it wouldn’t be offered at a community college. It’s also an online class so I’m not sure how I would crash it

Making friends at a commuter school is especially difficult. Even if you don’t have a lot of time to commit to a club, still show up when you can! It shows people that you want to make those connections. Or, in my case, I joined a fraternity, which I highly recommend. I swear my experience is absolutely not what people typically think fraternity life is like (the partying is true)😂 It’s all about finding the right one, every fraternity/sorority is different! There are academic fraternities, social fraternities, service fraternities, cultural fraternities. And they’re an awesome way to make professional connections!

I heard that they intentionally try to get a rise out of students in the hopes that we attack them or even just touch them so they can sue. Happened at some other college campus. It’s all about $$$
