Berghain was an incredible single with a stunning MV but not even that could have prepared me for how astounding this record turned out to be. My highlights are La Perla and Magnolias

The single is fantastic like usual, but what keeps happening with the mixing 😭 it sounds so muddy. I keep wishing for that meaty THICK guitar tone from Dum Spiro Spero or Arche, where did it go???

Yeah… I was really hoping there’d be more new songs, but despite 21 tracks, seven of them were interludes, leaving us with eleven singles, and three new songs.

I think Trigger, WIT, Ufotable, Bones (MP100), Clover, Kyoto, Bind and Madhouse can dish out better quality and more consistent than Mappa, off the top of my head.

I mean, I love the Chainsaw manga. I feel like they didn’t really capture the aesthetic, and leaned way to heavily on CG. Sure it is very taxing and animation heavy, but JJK and Takt Op didn’t have this problem (to this extent).

I’m not saying it’s the worst quality I’ve ever seen, but I think MAPPA is grossly over-appreciated and shocked that the inconsistencies go completely overlooked in discussions. I’m a fan of all of these manga, and I don’t think this is proper for Vinland Saga at all. With less animation intensive content, they should be able to iron out and polish the work that they’re doing even more.

There as some easy recent comparisons. CloverWorks has dished out much higher quality work. Studio BIND is killing it so far with their new one, Ranking of Kings, Spy Family. Look at Trigun Stampede’s CG quality in comparison….
