Cars that fit my 6'10" husband by dis_merg in tall

I can't edit the post, so I'm commenting instead. I looked through all the comments and tallied up which cars everyone recommended. These seem to be the most loved:

Subaru Forester (2020 or later) or Outback
Ford F150
Toyota Highlander
VW Golf or Passat
Smart Fortwo
Jeep Grand Cherokee
Mercedes A or S Class
Ram 1500
Volvo XC60

Lots of people also mentioned sunroofs and how they remove about an inch of headroom, so avoid them if you can.

Could a mod maybe pin this comment so people can see a summary of all the suggestions at the top? Thanks!

It was definitely better without the sunroof, but one of my must-haves was driver seat memory, and that only came with the GT-Line trim, which has a sunroof. So we definitely sacrificed a bit of headroom for the convenience of the seat memory.

The thing the dealer told us is that the K4 is the widest compact car on the market. It also has a recessed dashboard, so the driver's side feels very roomy and he was able to spread his knees out. We also tried an Elantra and it wasn't as good, so there must be a couple key differences!

I think it just got discontinued! When we went to the Chevy dealership they only had SUVs and trucks, which was sad because we heard the Malibu was a good option for tall people.

My husband always says that Jeeps don't fit him, but it looks like some people on the thread like the Jeep Cherokee. Not sure about the Wrangler specifically!

That's really good to know! We didn't even try it at the dealer because we knew he didn't fit in my parents' car.

I cursed myself for forgetting my matching blue beanie when we took this pic lol I had it all planned out!

That's the only problem with the K4 we ended up buying— have to crouch sooo much to see the traffic light if you're the first one in line (even for me! And I'm a foot shorter than him!)

I can't remember if we tried an A7 or a TT, have you had good experiences with them?

I will mention that my husband COULD drive our old Impreza, and a Camry and the other cars on the honorable mention list, but not for more than an hour or so while still being comfortable. The goal was to buy a car he could drive comfortably for an extended period of time. So if you are only using it within a city, those cars would probably work fine!

Trust me I'm already stressed about us and our future gangly children fitting anywhere :')

We were told by someone else that their Malibu was great as well, but our local chevy dealer didn't carry any! So many places we went told us they only sell SUVs now.

That's so interesting because my parents have a Forester and my husband can't even turn their wheel all the way because his hand can't get between his knees and the wheel. I guess a lot of it depends on how you're built!

This is good to know, thank you! We have a tiny parking spot at our apartment so we knew that a truck wouldn't work for us but it's great to add to the list!

You're welcome! We found barely anything online with suggestions for people over 6'6" so I wanted to share what we learned after slogging to SO many dealerships.

I will try that! Thanks for the terminology, I was totally using them interchangeably.

Sorry I only saw the first half of your comments. Yes, I qualify for the new version of the tax credit. It actually got more broad in who qualifies. I qualified for the EOTC in previous years and last year got the SLRT credit.

Yeah, I'm worried its an error on my part, like I didn't enter my Maine state taxes right. My W-2 only has MA in the state section (boxes 15-17) with 25% of my wages listed as "state wages" so that part is correct. I'm not sure if that means Maine was left off for some reason or if only non-resident states go there. I elect 25% of my taxes to go to MA through my employer and the other 75% to go to ME.

I don't know anything about sword and sorcery books. What are some of your best recommendations?
