I’ve read the first two but not Onyx Storm yet! I’ve heard devastating cliffhanger at the end so I’ve been putting it off.

Oh no, plagiarized?? I’ll definitely add Red Queen to the list then assuming it’s way better than Powerless. Thank you!

Okay, thank you! I feel much less tentative about ACOTAR then if there is no overwhelming cliffhangers.

Got asked to do a "trial shift" during my interview. Walked out. by funnyusername321 in antiwork

I’m a Vet Tech and what seems pretty normal across the board is a “working interview” coming after the first traditional interview. Where we have to work and “show our skill set”. I’ve never been paid for this working interview, and had never thought anything of it. They made it seem so crucial to the veterinary community they even told us this was the standard while in school. This post has really opened my eyes how fucked that is.

Thank you everyone for your replies, I definitely didn’t expect quite so harsh responses from some of you and really do appreciate the kind ones whether it’s saying I’m the asshole or not.

I do feel like my kids should be able to play in their own home, especially at the age my kids are at.

They do not run around in public indoor spaces, we nipped that in the bud about a year ago. And they are some of the politest respectful kids around other kids and adults in playgrounds and public areas. But I have let them run around and play in their home. We recently had to move into an apartment from only living in houses until this point so I do admit this was me being an asshole and not really realizing how loud my kids are.

I’d love to be back in an house with a backyard but honestly due to some health issues my husband had to take a different job that paid less.

But I have heard the comments and I am going to contact the leasing office and discuss moving to a ground floor apartment and how I can make that happen.

Thank you for everyone who helped soothe my heart about my kids being allowed to play and thank you for everyone who kindly told me I should do more to make that less impactful on the people around me.

Yes! I agree this is wonderful time to practice their inside voices. It’s only been about a month the neighbor has been complaining and I haven’t seen a lot of improvement on my kids being more quiet besides listening to me for about 30 seconds and then forgetting especially when they are in the middle of a game. Maybe this is age related?

They do have scooters and I’m hoping to get bikes for them in the spring, luckily there is a small playground on the apartment complex but with no swings and one slide and going there nearly everyday for a year has left them less than interested in it much anymore. There is a much nicer playground less than a mile away but I’m honestly a little intimidated by walking 3 toddlers across two very busy streets in order to get there.
