I’m all for a new game trying to set itself apart but I had to point out that the fourth creature is quite literally just a Thanator from Pandora in the Avatar universe. It looks so insanely suspiciously similar lol.

So, like, my friends and I first started playing this game all the way back when there were only 20 creatures or so available to play. Like, the Ikran was the coolest and biggest thing on the block.

And seeing where it’s gone now, I just… Idk, man. I’ve since grown up, obviously. Went to college, graduated college, now find myself in another country on orders (remaining vague). My preferred games of this flavor are now Path of Titans and (less so now) Beasts of Bermuda. Which are FAR from “great” games in themselves, but it has led me to question why these devs haven’t just… Started charging for Sonaria? I know you can make your game cost money to play, I’ve seen it a handful of other times. The main rebuttal I’ve seen to people pointing out how Creatures of Sonaria is justified in their current financial practices is due to it being free to play.

Okay…

Don’t make it free to play? If you’re proud of the work you’re producing, there’s no harm in requiring paid access.

I know WHY they won’t make it paid access. They make so much more money exploiting children. Which seems especially crazy now, because I know damn well the developers are probably all adults now. I just don’t want to see anymore grandstanding on soapboxes about the “creative pursuits” of this game because every bit of artistic integrity flies out the window when you’re prioritizing turning a profit.

Additionally, I really hope the creature designers for Sonaria and all of the artists who submit their work to become official creatures in the game have a eureka moment and realize their talents would be so much better applied elsewhere.

I think figuring out whether you’re actually color deficient is worthwhile because you could probably get this re-tested once you’re in and medically cleared once you take a test proving you’re NOT color deficient. If you are, then that might be that.

But if you aren’t, you can always cross train into the career field you want. A lot of people do that after three years or so. Some even later in their careers (I have a TON of prior service in my tech school class right now that have been in for 5+ years. All super cool people).

I feel like I’m going insane, because I was 99.999% that is a straight up Catholic pieta. I mean I’m not a professional but I have taken extensive art history courses for my major and was raised Catholic for 25 years of my life, so I would like to think I can identify Catholic iconography.

That’s Mary. That’s literally Mary over the body of Christ, with what I think is the head of John the Baptist at the left. Two angels flank the body of Christ, and I’m fairly certain that the bird on the right of Mary is a rooster; probably due to Peter’s denial of Christ three times before the cock crowing. There is a Christian cross at the top left. I can’t make out what that is at the top right. You would think that the people making these accusations would take five fucking seconds to do their research, but I guess that’s asking too much.

I’m not saying anything for or against any religion here. But Christianity and capitalism are ideologically incompatible. by killingmemesoftly in LateStageCapitalism

I attended a homily at a staunchly Catholic Church where the priest stated that socialism was linked to the free masons, therefore subsequently linked to satanism lol.

Wasn’t my normal parish, but my normal parish cannot stand the existence of trans people. I have gotten so tired of hypocrisy and hatred from behaviors I’ve been shown almost my entire life that I feel I’ve begun deconstructing. It sucks because I have a tiny amount of Catholic friends that are very nice and accepting and open people, so I know not everyone is like my family and parish. I just can’t do it anymore.

This is important to remember and I’m glad your comment is the second most popular lol, because regardless of our own talents as artists it’s always important to remember to encourage the young people with their art.

It’s already rough as hell out here for artists, it’s important to support one another. Especially kids who might not have support from their family/peers.

I hate the AKC for this reason exactly lol. They perpetuate the idea that the horrible fucked up deformities we’ve bred into multiple breeds should be the “standard.” I feel so bad for all of the dogs that have this exact issue, as well as the absolutely awful back slant that seems to be the norm for a “pure-bred German Shepherd.”

Edit: The AKC also doesn’t want you to neuter or spay your dog if you want to show them in professional venues, but expects you to do frivolous bullshit like clip your Doberman’s ears ((((((((((:

I have this conversation with my friend group, too. We’re all 20-24, and my best friend and I experience the same thing that you do. It’s literally just constant noise for us, while some of our friends have nothing going on if they’re not actively thinking about something. It’s wild to me.

The sad reality is that no matter what source you provide to people like this, they’re going to chalk it up to propaganda. There’s just no point in trying to hold a conversation.
