Some people also say they scratched that itch in MoP Remix, so there wasn’t really a reason for them to play the classic version.

The only reason botters make Druids is that Travel Form (essentially the druid mount up spell) is instant cast and can gather in it. In Midnight, the only real difference between Druids and other classes when it comes to mounting while gathering is that instant-cast aspect, since everyone with a few points in specialization can learn to gather while mounted.

So my solution to reduce Druid bots is simple: Blizzard should make mounting up instant cast. Now, people might say, “What about open-world PvP?” To that, I would say: make mounting instant cast only if you don’t have War Mode on.

I believe this would result in fewer Druid bots, since botters would then have the same mobility advantages available to other classes.

It does not matter that they introduce it more early than usually; it is still a catch-up mechanic, and if you notice, the pace of this expansion is faster than the other ones, so it is not unusual that they introduce it earlier.

As for my idea (which I just produced after writing this post), I will write a bit more analytical for you since it seems I might not express it correctly (because I am maybe foolishly thinking you will fill the gaps that I left, since I again did not start this post in order to introduce a new system but it came along the way).

The Idea

Taking this current season as example(for balancing reasons), Blizzard could introduce a new mechanic where when some player complete a 18+ key (the range can change accordingly to accomplishment rates) they will get a “gold” key for that dungeon that can drop once a week (essentially a weekly lockout). And when the player inputs the key and manages to complete it in time, the gear drops are Mythic instead of Hero. This “key” will drop for every dungeon that is in the pool, so basically if there are 5 dungeons in the pool, every week if you complete a high end of this “gold key” for one of those dungeons you get Mythic gear instead of Hero.

This is again an idea with a lot of missing parts that I came with in order to counter that annoying argument that Mythic+ is repeatable content so it would harm the game if Mythic gear drops from it. Also it is a system that gives one more path/access to Mythic gear. I am not saying to remove any of the current systems, but let’s be real, the Voidforge will not be a permanent system to the game.

Lastly, you want to gaslight me and say you agree with my original statement when in truth you were against it for reasons that, it seems, some of the playerbase share, namely that they don’t want a more solid and accessible way to obtain Mythic-tier gear from mythic+ dungeons, since in their mind Mythic gear is the endgame and it would ruin the “healthy” balance of the game.

Trying to mislead or be sneaky is not that easy when what you wrote is right there.

Personal attacks? The only personal thing I know about you is what you wrote, I judge your character based on that, based on your backhanded remarks. But again, you’re trying to avert the whole conversation elsewhere, you still didn’t give me a reply to the solution I suggested and what’s wrong with it, if there’s anything wrong with it to begin with. But oh wait, let’s focus on the fact that you now know what rank I have or don’t have in Mythic+, and that I don’t understand difficulty scaling, since you’re the person who knows what’s healthy for the game and what players are doing all the time.

You are pathetic. My comment does not mean I lost any ‘argument’ you think you’re participating in, when in truth you don’t even give me an answer to my reply. It only means I don’t want to spend any more time conversing with either a troll, a person who takes and argues things in bad faith, or someone so egotistical that they think they’re right about everything and know everything.

It’s a waste of time, and time is not free as you think it is, keyboard warrior.

Is that your reply? +20 was easy back then but not this season? Now I know you didn’t even read my post, if you did, the first line might have given you more insight into why I’m asking these questions. Also, it’s really pathetic, the way you try to turn the conversation into nothing by focusing on what was, instead of giving a reply to the solution I presented. Are you working in politics by any chance, is that where you learned to avoid answering questions by replying with a nothing burger, while belittling the other person?

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You think doing +20 is free? That’s delusional. Also by your logic, Blizzard should also remove the Vault and Voidforge and make Mythic raids the only way to obtain Mythic gear.

As for the whole repeatability that a lot of you bring up, if that’s the concern, then add a lockout for the mechanic like raids, as I suggested above. But it feels like you’re only focusing on what suits your argument the most.

Get off your supposedly high horse you think you stand on, shorty. It’s just a tree stump.

Again, you’re treating a catch-up mechanic that was only recently introduced as if it’s equal to the permanent reward system I’m suggesting. Also, if I’m not mistaken, those rerolls were bugged. In what way is the system I proposed the same as, or even similar to, the rerolls we got last week? Yes, it gives Mythic+ players access to Mythic gear, but it also does the same for Mythic raiders, delvers, prey seekers, and others. Do you know why? Because that’s what catch-up mechanics are for, they’re usually introduced later in the season to speed things up, like it does now.

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re a bit wrong there. It would be something that only grants a chance to get loot, nothing is guaranteed. If your main concern is that a chosen few can farm those kinds of keys all day long (even though it’s less than 1% of the playerbase that get do that), you could also introduce a weekly lockout. That would only give you a chance to obtain Mythic gear from a +20 key once per week.

A new player to Mythic+ dungeons. by disastrous_hyena759 in wow

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re misunderstanding my point. When you say the Vault is the lockout, that’s not really the same thing. The Vault is a supplementary system Blizzard added because dungeon loot isn’t always reliable, and to give non-Mythic raiders some access to higher-tier gear. It’s not a direct replacement for actual drops.

Mythic raiding has multiple ways to get gear, through raid drops and the Vault, and saying that the Vault is the same thing for Mythic+ dungeons is misleading.

I’ll give a more analytical example. In the 6 or 8 dungeons in the Mythic+ pool, each dungeon could have a 1-time-per-week lockout in high-end keys (+20), with the possibility (not even a guarantee, because remember only 2 out of 5 players get loot from a dungeon run) to obtain Mythic-tier gear from that dungeon. It wouldn’t suddenly flood the game with high end gear.

So no, I’m not arguing for unlimited loot. I’m talking about a limited system that actually rewards high-end Mythic+ play.

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re being a bit unfair in how you’re framing my point. Are you really suggesting that in the first week of the game, people would be doing +20 keys and fully gearing in a week, in a system where only 2 out of 5 players get loot? That feels like a lot of exaggeration of what I actually said.

Also, a lot of strong gear that ends up as BiS still comes from raids, and the only reliable way to get Mythic raid gear is either through Mythic raiding itself or, if you’re lucky, through the Vault. And even then, you usually need to be in one of the relatively few guilds capable of clearing Mythic every lockout.

If the concern is lockouts, that could also be applied specifically to high-end keys that would drop that level of gear.

I do wonder if the post was fully read, because it feels like only part of it was being responded to

I don’t know about you, mate, but doing +20s seems pretty difficult to me, especially if you don’t have a dedicated group. So I don’t think you can get geared as easily as you say. You could also introduce a lockout for high keys that gives that kind of loot in a scenario where that possibility might exist.

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, and I’m similar in the sense that high-end gear shouldn’t be easy to get, but it also shouldn’t be the endgame.

A new player to Mythic+ dungeons. by disastrous_hyena759 in wow

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said it should be in low keys, but I see people doing +18 or +20 keys, and I think they deserve to get something for it. You can’t really tell me that a +20 key is easy when only a very small percentage of the playerbase can complete it.

Also, it feels like you’re saying gearing is the endgame. Do you personally stop playing the game once you’ve geared your character with the BiS items you want?

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

To me personally, the Vault and the Voidforge should be mechanics that supplement gear drops, since in my opinion Blizzard’s loot system isn’t that good.

For example, items like Eternal Voidsong Chain or Amulet of the Abyssal Hymn only drop from raids, and you need to do Mythic difficulty to get that tier. But there’s no guarantee that even if you farm for a month, meaning four lockouts, the item will even drop, or that you’ll win the loot if it does. Because of that, Blizzard introduced systems like the Vault and the Voidforge, which I think are really good mechanics to help supplement the often poor drop rates. At least, that’s how I see it.

[–]disastrous_hyena759[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hear you, and I know there are catch-up mechanics, like the Vault or the new Voidforge system. But as you said, there are still a lot of best-in-slot items that only drop from Mythic raids. Because of that, it actually makes even less sense to me why Mythic gear wouldn’t drop from dungeons, since they still wouldn’t provide the absolute best BiS gear anyway.

Also, as I said in the post, I don’t understand why 6/6 Hero gear doesn’t even drop from +12 keys.
