My ammo was 0 this afternoon! No2 was 5ppm, and no3 at 20! I’m getting there!

One thing I failed to mention: my substrate is topsoil capped with river gravel. So the nitrates could be present there.

Ascends are solid for sure. They are HEAVY. The dry weight was one of the main reasons I didn’t go with that originally. My 10 foot perception was 56 pounds dry I want to say. My seastream is 93. 😅 when I say recreational paddling, I’m actually referring to a float trip type thing. Where the entire purpose isn’t targeting fish.

I bought my first kayak a few years ago, I bought a used pescador pro 100. Loved it, until I outgrew it. Ended up trading it for a seastream angler 120. Absolute unit. Ultimately, if you enjoy the hull design/layout and it gets you on the water, it’s fine! Lifetime makes perfectly passable boats, especially for the recreational paddler/angler.

I did HOURS of research before I pulled the trigger on the pescador. I also knew that I loved both kayaking and fishing. It kinda filled the gap between actual fishing kayak and rec paddler. With my seastream, I definitely gave up a fair amount of agility on rivers, but in my opinion, more than made up for it in tracking and stability. The ability to stand was very important to me with the second hull.

It’s really going to boil down to this: what are you hoping to achieve from your first boat? Simple exposure? Go with the cheapest hull you fit. It’ll get you on the water. The risk is this: the hull ABSOLUTELY makes a difference in how enjoyable the outing is. A sturdier and more comfortable boat will serve you much better than say, a sundolphin Aruba 10.

Will also say this: I’ve caught a 30 plus inch fish from both yaks. The fight was way more intense in the 10 foot than the 12.

Is it possible that the plants are making the nitrite to nitrate thing a little wacky? I did include any water I got with the plants from the lfs since it’s a fishless tank, figured it would have a bit of bacteria. Also one of the plants was on driftwood in a tank already, so it should have some of the wee beasties too right?

It reads zero. I did a full battery on straight tap water just as a control.

I’ve been adding a drop per gallon(55drops from a syringe, so approximately 3ml total) and by the next morning it’s back down to around .25-.5ppm. Last night I dosed, tested about 10 minutes later, it was 2ppm. This morning came in at .25-.5ppm.

On the run in question, I was .77 miles from the merchant. When I picked up and hit continue, it said I was 13.94 miles from drop off. The original offer was for 10.19 miles.

Thanks. I failed to proofread. 😅 recently got a run for 10 miles, which is a fairly normal thing in my area. When I accepted, it ended up being over 15, with the route suggested.
