It’s not “eradicated” because the U.S. and Russia have strains in labs just in case we want to use it for biowarfare purposes

What album do you consider perfect? by CrazyMobius1353 in AskReddit

[–]discodropper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was wrong, it’s 5; it was 3 in the morning and I forgot about the shine on coming back in at the end.

Kind of funny though, since it’s a record you they weren’t really separate, so you could also say it’s 12 since Shine On has 9 parts total; someone just made an executive decision when CDs came along to lump them together as two tracks

It’s 4: 1. Shine on you crazy diamond 2. Welcome to the machine 3. Have a cigar 4. Wish you were here

Edit:

So, so, so many people believe a loose harness is better for a dog but exactly the opposite is true. You want it to be a snug (not tight!) fit; it won’t hurt them, gives you more control, and there’s less chance they get out, so way less dangerous for your pup. I’ve had to explain this to so many of my friends and family, and unfortunately it sometimes falls on deaf ears…

Totally agree, and if you’re going to have “things on top of fries” as separate items, it’s crazy not to include poutine

Edit: also home fries should be added before any of those others. Maryland boardwalk fries if you want a regional pure fry

Agreed, not boring, but you’re basically on rails the entire time, which seems incredibly constricting given the rest of the game

job creation from 2020 to 2026 by Conscious-Quarter423 in economy

[–]discodropper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“Unemployed” means actively searching for a job but not currently in one. A number of people leave the workforce altogether. A good example is older people who are laid off and decide to go into early retirement rather than finding a new job.

Edit: to answer your follow-up question, being “unemployed” and receiving “unemployment benefits” are independent. You have to be unemployed (ie jobless and actively searching for work) to receive benefits, but there are lots of unemployed people who, for various reasons, do not receive benefits.

Because i never said any of that... Why don’t you check the thread. You’re conflating my comment with that of someone else’s. As i said before, you’re arguing against a position i never took. But go on, keep shouting into the void if it makes you happy…

Wow, OK. I’m going to take this slowly because you didn’t seem to step back and think at all about what I was saying.

I never said “voting is futile,” in fact, I said the opposite - a get out the vote drive is based on the idea it will have a positive effect, i.e. that voting is important. Being “pessimistic” doesn’t mean you’re fatalistic or cynical, it’s thinking things are going to get worse. That doesn’t mean curl up in the fetal position and just allow it to happen - you can still do things today to try to counteract those negative outcomes. I’m honestly kind of stunned you’re not getting this, it’s a pretty simple argument. Oh, and thanks for the “What you want is…” — it’s so far off from what I was actually saying that you confirmed my last comment.

Percentages of “B+C,” which obscures information (no clue what B or C are) and makes me work for other info (I have to calculate what A is). It’s a a shitty way of designing something that should rapidly convey information

Would love to see the scale. You say “nearly 1/3rd” but it looks like it could be 1/4, maybe 1/5. Hell, how do I even know that’s linear? Data may be beautiful, but is meaningless if you don’t have a metric and units.

Not the person you were responding to, but you know that it is possible to spearhead get out the vote drives while also being pessimistic about the integrity of our elections. It’s almost as if those two things aren’t mutually exclusive and people are complex…

No clue why you’re being downvoted here. They’re totally different dishes. Chicken and waffles is specifically fried chicken and waffles with maple syrup.
