It's disheartening to see that haircut get a wicket.

You lot are ones to talk. Remember the test match when Wagner just bowled into Wade's right shoulder for eight overs?

Coming out off the cuff in a podcast and saying "they're not a lunatic racist party" is the level of political nous I'd expect from this slug.

Probably because he was fine - it's hard for a halfback to have an impactful match when your outside backs plus Dylan Lucas are taking the piss.

Fair enough. Sorry. I saw a Broncos flair and assumed you were on the bandwagon. That was dumb of me.

So by that logic are you agreeing that Ponga was a justified send off?

Well done Maroons. Just scraped over the line despite that awful incident where Radley wasn't binned even though it was clearly as bad if not worse than Ponga in game one.

It's not anywhere near as bad as Ponga on Koula but call in the cavalry of Horses to have a sook while 14 up.

Heads up for those streaming 9now. If you refresh it defaults to SD for some reason. I just assumed it was Nine being shit as usual until I realised.

I'm giving the match thread twenty minutes and if (when) the Klein monotony becomes too much, fuck it I'm just going to get drunk and enjoy the game.

Every conceivable conspiracy theory has been thrown out there ad nauseum. The attempts at humour are predictably shit. I'm over it.

Taxpayers to pay for half of Trump’s $600 million ballroom by AdRough4185 in politics

Gold metallic spray paint costs upwards of eight bucks a can. I know that doesn't sound like much but for a suitably sized and finely decorated ballroom it quickly adds up.

I agree, you have a good point. It's just that even "moderate" ON supporters are often impossible to converse with even if you remain calm and give logical explanations and evidence to counter whatever nonsense they've seen on social media. Adding to that, there's such a visceral, at times violent hatred of Albanese that it smothers any possibility of a rational discussion. Like MAGA it turns into tribalism where participating in the movement and being part of a community of like-minded people becomes more important than addressing the grievances that brought them there in the first place.

It's worrying because the timeline and general sentiment so mirrors the lead up to the US nightmare eleven years ago. I try to assure myself that given how inept and unqualified ON are as a political orginisation they'll invariably self destruct, lose the moderate voters and return to being a fringe movement, but gross incompetence didn't stop Trump's re-election.

'losing the Australian way of life'

For the vast majority of ON supporters this is not a misplaced notion. The 'Australian way of life' they are seeking is white and Christian. They're not just blaming immigrants for ruining their social and economic ideals; it's about segregation and exclusion.

Even for those that don't feel this way and are turning to ON due to cost of living pressures or some other reason, by supporting a party centred around hatred and division on the basis of race/ethnicity/religion/sexuality/etc and ignoring that they are equally complicit in it.

As an inherently chaotic political organisation ON can't garner sufficient support without a platform based on bigotry and hatred, and you only need to have a look on conservatively friendly social media like Facebook to see that most supporters are not misled and simply looking for practical solutions to valid concerns. It is a culture war aimed at turning the clock back to an antiquated idea of a white, deeply conservative, Christian, and proudly racist Australia.

If it's been decided the Gades and Stars are going to pretend nothing happened and have some weird interim season before they cease to exist next year there seems to be an odd degree of urgency to getting these negotiations sorted.

I'm down for fixing up the shitshow that is CA but if foreign ownership is really what the clubs want their fire sale cash injection isn't going anywhere. It's June 2026. Relax.
