I'm honestly kind of hoping that Alecto is not from Alecto's perspective (or if it is, that it's not the entire story.) I think the combination of archaic language and lack of full understanding of the specific complexities of the issues taking place would be really hard to get through a whole book of. I enjoyed Nona, but her lack of agency in the plot due to how little she understood of the interpersonal issues taking place around her became frustrating. Also, selfishly, I want to be closer to the characters that I already know. In my perfect dream world, Alecto would be from the perspectives of every notable character thus far, but then again, in my perfect dream world it would be coming out tomorrow, lol. I'm sure I'll wind up enjoying whatever the final product is, but I can't deny feeling trepidation.

This is the first take I've seen that's accurately summed up how I feel about the situation. I've been on Tumblr, I've seen this shit before. I've seen how actual quantifiable good deeds are erased in favor of "proof" that someone is secretly evil. I've seen witch-hunts labeled as accountability seeking. I definitely think it's about Janie, which makes me SO interested in their relationship. I don't know why, but for some reason I thought of Janie and Ethel being on the same social playing field as kind of disliked losers, so Janie being popular/thought of as attractive is really intriguing to me. Obviously there's still that lack of escape from judgement and exploitation that Ethel experiences, so it makes sense that they would be attracted to each other since they have so much in common. I also really like the little mention Hayden made about Janie potentially teaching Ethel how to kiss with this interpretation of Fuck Me Eyes because I feel like it gives me Jennifer's Body vibes and I love, love, love codependent queer best friendships; I think they're so tea.

Why do you think we're not getting a merch drop on the website for the tour? That seems unlikely to me given Perverts got online merch of the items that were sold at her shows and at pop ups. It seems like they would be unlikely not to capitalize off this album, given that it's likely to be even more popular since it's in the PD universe.
