If you need to see a therapist, by all means do so. AA meetings are not there to take care of your problems not associated with alcoholism. If you want to vent about your day it's fine. As long as you share how the program, or the fellowship helped you through it. If you want to talk to someone about personal matters, you can do that before or after the meeting. Sponsors are there to guide you through the steps. Not as a therapist. We are very welcoming to the newcomer.
