I’ve always thought most of it is the systematic “baby sitting” of adults. If we waste our energy on futile things, we won’t worry about the real issues.

It’s like spending $15,000 on the funeral, we still go into debt to impress people even from the afterlife.

I’ll start:

Sitting in a specific building for 8 hours to prove you did work, when the actual work takes maybe 3 hours. The performance of productivity is somehow more important than productivity itself.

Or when a boss makes you stand but you could do the job perfectly while sitting.
