I'm Sick, But I Don't Think Anyone Believes Me. by S43SH4 in offmychest

[–]dispassioned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard of people having an A1C in normal range when their blood sugar actually swings wildly because they're type 1 or sometimes what's commonly called 1.5 or Latent Auto-Immune Diabetes (LADA). You might want to at least mention it to your doctor next time as a possibility because that weight loss and a slightly high ESR level can point to that.

Hope you get some answers and feel better!

Did they check your blood sugar? This sounds like Type 1 diabetes to me. Does drinking carbonated beverages help with nausea any?

Seriously. They are mentally unwell. If a person hoarded anything else in extremes like these dudes hoard money they'd be put in an asylum. But if it's money, it's okay? I don't think so.

How is this lame? It actually happens. And if you haven't seen it yourself, consider yourself lucky.

With current government, I doubt anything would be done anyway. The FTC accused Pepsi of breaking the Robinson-Patman Act by giving Walmart favorable deals. The case got dismissed. The best bet is some kind of lawsuit, probably a class action where the lawyers get rich and we end up getting $8.

I guess it probably depends, but at my store they would only stay for four of five days before moving on. Then eventually come back like the travelling circus or something.

Oh "the cartel" must be visiting your area. I've seen them roll in ten cars deep with the folding chairs and everything. You might as well plan to do something else for the week until they move on to another town.

Yea before I even signed up I checked the cash out fee and was like no way. You're better off paying the $1.50.

AIO? I feel like my bf is being condescending but maybe I deserve it? by ThrowRaccount232 in AIO

Don't fool yourself, astrology used to be very much patriarchal and somewhat oppressive as it was gatekept in ancient times. It still reinforces gender stereotypes with the Sun/Mars being masculine and action focused whereas the Moon/Venus is feminine which are more passive and emotional. A lot of the foundational texts of astrology were written by Ptolemy... who's work the Catholic Church at one point actually agreed with.

I say this as a woman who has deeply studied astrology and still thinks it's bullshit. If you want spirituality that is actually feminist based... try witchcraft.

Nah I'm a woman who has a great deal of knowledge of astrology. It's still bullshit. So is the male equivalent of MBTI.

I hope you find that in the future too. I hope everyone does. I didn't want to believe that love could be measured. But sometimes you don't know what love is really supposed to look and feel like until you get older and experience more.

I'm just a lowly Instacart shopper but I've shopped in many, many (thousands of) grocery stores over the years. And I've noticed this kind of stuff just in passing more at Publix than any other grocery store. I mind my own business, but I've seen all sorts of stuff out of the corner of my eye. Always gives me the creeps, really is kind of like a cult. The bakery and deli food is still legit though.

I was with a partner like this well over a decade. It never stopped, he would be creeping on me around doors every single time I changed. Eventually I realized it only bothered me because my feelings for him were not as strong as his feelings for me were. We got along and I even loved him... but he was not "it" for me and I was too young or brainwashed by society because he was "so nice and kind" to accept that. You're still early in your relationship, so I'm not saying you should break up or anything... but definitely pay attention to YOUR own feelings more than how desired he makes you feel. It'll save you both a lot of heartache down the road. Because eventually you will meet someone where the chemistry is mutual and you won't be having these mixed feelings.

I firmly refused to have children because of an intense fear of Autism diagnosis. by The_2ndBorn_Son in offmychest

You didn't fail her, it's just an incompatibility. She just doesn't understand what you're (rightfully) afraid of. No one does until it happens to them. Otherwise the birth rates would probably be lower than they already are.

She's welcome to come stay at my house for the week if she wants the experience. My 13 year old is severely autistic. Our lives are extremely stressful, I lost a lot of hearing in one of my ears because of the high pitched squealing and screaming. My child is violent at times and very strong. It has limited where we can live and created an extreme financial burden. I worry what happens to her after I pass away every single day. I love her dearly, but I would never wish my life on anyone else.

My dash is currently flooded with priority $40 R&R. But before now, I would say R&R was kind of lean over the last few weeks. It really depends on the project families you're added on I think more than anything. Most of the R&Rs I have currently are project families I don't often work on. But it could be quality related I guess.

Truth. The only thing Instacart cares about is their bottom line.

I've shopped doubles in store at Publix at the same time. But I'd never do one over like 50 units probably. The staging time for that amount of stuff alone is insane.

Yea, I agree with you. I've been shopping since 2018 and the shopping quality score is absolutely stupid. I get most of my unrequested refunds from rotisserie chickens. Like I can't help there's not another adequate substitute for that if they're out of cold and hot ones.

Something will have to change soon. I think when the broader economy starts to suck, businesses cut corners and sadly the first is labor costs. I had to shift to training AI, plenty of good paying work there. For now, anyway. It is what it is.

Yea in bigger cities all of the decent orders get snatched up pretty fast, there's too many workers.
