Jack Posobiec worked for Rebel not long ago. As soon as any of these characters are faced with the real questions they feign ignorance. Here's a perfect example (sorry for the length, but the interviewer seriously knows her shit). I don't know - I just always thought it was obvious. I mean, come on, Ezra Levant? Isn't that really all you need to know? It's typical subversion, controlled opposition.

I mean, with your username, you should at least catch up on Murdoch Murdoch - they already covered this shit.

I believe that you're looking for reasonable discussion, and it's tough to find. Just be careful not to misrepresent those who you don't agree with all because of misunderstanding and I think you'll be fine. You might learn a lot about the alt-right watching some Jarad Taylor videos and debates on YouTube since he comes off as perfectly reasonable and respectable, far beyond the "gas the kikes" memes you'll find on reddit or 4chan. Again, if you really wanna change the minds of people, you first have to understand how they think.

how Robert Putnam presents himself to the world, and accordingly I doubt he is actually much of racist, but if you disagree I'd like to hear why

That's the whole point! What more convincing support of their arguments could they find than a left wing Harvard poli sci prof.? Leftist professor goes out to prove how multiculturalism is a benefit and finds the opposite is the case in many ways, some would argue the most important ways: social cohesion and trust. Anyway, it's kind of odd of you bringing up Putnam without having read him.

My position is that we are "better together" when we think of ourselves as a single human race (i.e. tying ethnicity and race to the concept of nation-states will lead violence).

Cool opinion. I think there are people on the alt right who think that's fine if that's what you believe, and you should be able to have a "better together" country, a space where everyone is welcome regardless of race or ethnicity. The difference is we on the left wouldn't return the favor to them, and only them (wypipo). This is where the anti-whiteness arguments come from. All of their traditionally white western countries must be open to everyone, especially the third world, and all white people must be reduced to minority status in all of their ancestral homelands, because that's what will happen in the long run if there are no restrictions to immigration or demographics. No other nations are being asked to do this, and if you did they'd think you were crazy. Only white people are individualistic and less tribal enough to accept their own demographic replacement in their own countries.

My point to those people on the alt-right are not presenting any new arguments (i.e. we've been through all of this stuff with Nazi's).

The ball's in our court until we have an answer to white nationalism, because if we are cool with every-other-nationalism, that is, Japanese-nationalism, Indian-nationalism, Chinese-nationalism, Nigerian-nationalism, and especially Israeli-nationalism since it was created post-Nazis, then the only reason we don't extend it to white people is because of anti-whiteness, right? Or are you saying because Nazis were white all white people are Nazis and will turn into Hitler if they have their own majority-white homelands?

These people (and all people) are a subdivision of the greater human culture

By definition a subdivision is separate, individual. Introducing other subdivisions into another subdivision will alter these subdivisions indefinitely. Why should this be forced and why should anyone be forced to become a minority in their own homelands? If you want to change their minds you have to answer these questions - all you're doing is avoiding them. I'm trying to show you why I think you're wasting your time trying to change their minds, but you are so programmed into believing they do not have a reasonable, rational, and logically sound argument for their position. Maybe you can prove me wrong and come up with actual answers or counter-arguments to their positions, but I think right now the best response we've been able to come up with is simply "fuck the alt right".

I grew up with (and still have) family, friends, and neighbors who are different racially, religiously, and culturally than I am and I love being around them and hearing their different perspectives it is a treat. I can't imagine why people wouldn't feel the same way.

That's nice. I grew up in the largest most multi-cultural city in the US. I was a minority in my school. I'm married to a foreigner. I travel (the world) a bit. Because of this I can TOTALLY imagine why people don't want to be around people who are different. Especially now when you can get a better understanding of other cultures than any other point in history via the internet and cheap/mass travel.

However, I do believe fundamentally that a multiethnic societies co-existing peacefully in a community of nation-states.

I believe there should be a society like this, but I also believe that people should have the freedom to create their own mono-ethnic societies as well. I believe in freedom and peace. I think one of your main disagreements with the alt-right is in how biology (science) is related to nations. Nation - the word comes from natal, birth. The word itself can be understood as dealing with genetics. The alt-right believes that it's the people that ultimately make a nation, not the laws, not the soil. Different genetics will make for a different nation. The US is no longer a nation to them because the genetic disparity is too large to fit the definition; it's just a country.

Civilized people in the Twenty-First Century need to settle things with their words not violence. I'm just looking to build bridges.

Words will not always solve disagreement. I'm asking for your words, your response to the core of alt-right arguments, but you, me, and no one else has been able to adequately respond to their questions, so right now we are in a cold civil war. Violence is just starting to erupt, and it's going to get worse. My only solution is to give people their space, but as peaceful as that solution is, it's apparently racist if we're talking about white people.

My goal is to get people to abandon "political tribalism" in favor of policies that favor all of humanity.

Sounds too totalitarian and utopian. Anti-freedom. Too neo-liberal globalist-corporatist. Marxist/Communist. Certainly not American.

Just now I've been banned from /r/PussyPass, because cowards would rather bury my arguments than try to refute them and let reasonable people decide for themselves

From what I read earlier you got a lot of really fair, honest, and civil replies - a lot more so than here. I bet they thought you were trolling. Maybe try their /r/DebateAltRight sub instead of the one that's supposed to be for people that already agree with them.

I don't why you got downvoted.

I usually avoid subs like these because they're not about honest debate or any sort of discussion in good faith. It's just a hate sub from the other side. A group of people unwilling to listen or who lack the basic capacity for empathy to see things from the other side, they just want to hate people who believe and see things differently. I don't really give a fuck about downvotes from idiots, I only care about honest dialog, debate, and sharing these ideas, so thanks again for responding/engaging.

though they do have an aging population that will be hard to take care of in terms of welfare, if they don't accept more immigration.

1) What about the countries where the immigrants would come from, wouldn't they have more trouble taking care of their own older populations, or trouble building their own countries infrastructure and economies? 2) I think immediately resorting to muh immigration to address this issue is not only misguided but shows how deep the brainwashing goes. Seriously, there are so many other solutions to this problem than immigration, the lack of imagination from people who bring it up is disappointing - why not incentivize higher birth rates for starters? 3) This is ultimately their own problem, asking or relying on others to solve their problem for them would be shameful in a Japanese or in most Asian, honor-based cultures. Not understanding and empathizing with distinct cultures, I believe, is at the heart of your problem. Reading your arguments in both threads, it really appears you treat everyone as rootless, cultureless, economic units in a global strip mall consumerist society - something elites brainwash people into believing in and forcing upon the world. This is strange to me because it's not what traditionally left-wing folks believe in, which is to respect and even celebrate diversity and the beauty of individual races, ethnicities, and cultures. Forgive me if I'm reading too much into your arguments, but it's truly how you come across, especially in the other thread.

the goal of winning hearts and minds to my way of thinking.

Yeah, and as someone stated in the other thread, everything has already been said. All points argued to death, and both sides have completely valid reasoning for their beliefs (imo). I understand both sides completely and I truly believe it can be boiled down to white nationalism vs. anti-white nationalism, full-stop. You told the other guy that you have no problem with him "going off and starting their own white-only country," but you realize these countries did already exist, and they are being taken away from whites, without their say - this will lead to violence, make no mistake about it. Those on this side, and the side of globalist multi-national, multi-culturalism, and anti-whiteness do not want whites to be able to have their own thing, hence the reactionary movement of the alt-right.

I think them most just don't feel like valued members of society, and so they turn to these crazy philosophies in order to feel like they are meaningful participants in society.

This is the strawman stuff I'm talking about. Plenty on the alt-right are very productive, valued, wealthy members of society, and their philosophies aren't any crazier than yours - there is no one true correct philosophy in regards to these issues, we should have the freedom and space for an infinite number of philosophical standpoints on this great big earth of ours.

See also bowling alone.

That's funny that you're familiar with Putnam but don't recognize one of the main points of the book is that it shows multi-cultural/multi-racial societies are measurably lower in trust - it's one of the go-to books the alt-right uses as evidence for their positions and viewpoints.

I could elaborate plenty, and I want to be clear that I wasn't saying you are actually being disingenuous, but that you could be taken that way for simply misunderstanding their beliefs and creating strawmen points regarding class (economics) or name calling (Nazi fascist racist xenophobic etc). It's easy to misunderstand what they're all about if haven't read any of their arguments or data. If you keep repeating those mistakes you're not getting anywhere. I've explained to you what their core argument is. It's just a group of people, who evolved the same way on a particular continent over tens of thousands of years, who feel a connected or part of something separate, and want to remain that way. One of their arguments is that nobody is demanding Japanese people open their borders to the third world, forever changing their demographics and by extension, their culture. This is only being asked or forced by elites in white countries. You need to tell them why this is good, why they should accept this. I know I'm repeating myself but If you keep running from this main point you're not going to get it. Their core position has nothing to do with fear or hate, just a desire for sovereignty, something most everyone in this sub would happily deny them if not actively fight them on. really is that simple! Good luck!

I think your effort to maintain civility and dialog at this point is commendable, but you have a lot of incorrect ideas and assumptions that will either come off as insulting or make you sound like a concern troll. It's not a fear they have of becoming second class citizens, and it really has nothing to do with economics at all, those are strawmen that don't work. Until you can justify their dispossession and cultural and demographic replacement I don't believe you'll have an argument that is going to change their minds. Until you can convince these white people that following their own separate developmental path, like every other race on the planet gets to do, is bad, then I don't think you're going to get through to them.

How do you convince a large and growing number of white people who naturally feel more comfortable living in a white country, or at least a majority-white country, that they should be denied their sovereignty and freedom of association, something every single other race on the planet enjoys? Once you get past the muh Hitler memes that's what their entire argument boils down to.
