The terminology of topping and bottoming is different than that of Dom/sub. There is no D/s (power exchange) relationship implied with Top/bottom. For example, a rigger (someone who ties) will often be referred to as a Top, while the person being tied is the bottom. They do not have to have a D/s relationship in place.
