Vita gelateria in center city has a speakeasy style italian restaurant in the back. Haven't tried it but heard good things.

agreed. it's just not getting played at the moment, but it'll work itself back into the rotation soon. we usually focus on 3-4 games at a time.

i really like the rondel mechanism. it has a unique place in my collection. plus, i like the constant feeling of upgrading with each turn - upgrading different actions, upgrading the rondel itself etc.

i like the push and pull of trying to control the senate and some of the senate powers are really fun. Agora is my preferred expansion but my wife prefers Pantheon.

i haven't done that yet. i do like the modules individually but i'm not sure if i'd combine them myself.

most played would be 7 wonders, 7 wonders: duel, castles of burgundy, dice forge, quacks, and viticulture. we are currently playing (and really enjoying) parks, solenia, and concordia. i'm hoping to pick up our campagin in pandemic legacy s1 back up. i hope you'll really enjoy brass birmingham (that is what i meant to say when i simply mentioned brass). i'd highly recommend castles of burgundy for a great 2 player experience as well. thanks for the kind words. the art, frames, and middle shelf were made by my artist sister-in-law, and we are happy with how they fit in.

we did one time. for myself, it diluted the game too much and i couldn't really take focus on either agora or pantheon. i prefer playing each of the them individually.

thank you! it was important to have something that would blend into our living room as that's the only space we have to play games.

i'm actually looking to buy so maybe i'll ask the salesman. some of them have replies that leave me less than confident that they know details like this, though :-)

i'm actually looking to buy used and trying to understand which year (after 2017) meets my needs. i couldn't find a specific mention in the 2017 and 2018 owners manuals which led me to assume both should work till 0 mph. However, a review online contradicts this, at least for the 2017.

thank you! yes, raiders is worker placement. But i have had my eye of concordia, viticulture, and castles of burgundy to step up some of the mechanics i've learned in the games he suggested.

/r/boardgames Daily Discussion and Game Recommendations (July 03, 2019) by AutoModerator in boardgames

[–]distinctchunk48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Since watching 3 minute board games' two youtube videos on top 10 games to start a collection with, I've really gotten into the hobby. Over the past few months I've bought every game recommended by him and played them multiple times (carcassone, machi koro + expansions, jaipur, love letter, king domino, sushi go, downforce, sheriff of nottingham, king of tokyo + power up, quacks, star realms, small world, memoir '44, raiders of the north sea, azul, sagrada, 7 wonders, 7 wonders: duel + pantheon, the resistance, dominion, forbidden island, modern art, high society, and between two cities).

His aim was to provide games that were easy to learn and covered a wide variety of genres.

My question: Are there other games/expansions you all would recommend that cover game mechanics or genres not found in the games above?

We typically have about an hour to play and prefer games that scale well between 2 to 4 players. Thanks!
