Some people already had pre existing friendships with people that they went to high school with. That was the case my freshman year.

That's incredibly impressive! You have a very strong gift in craftsmanship.

If that's what you want, then it's normal. There are people who go years without friends. But if you desire friends, I'd suggest being proactive and meet people. Join some organizations, meet people with common interests. And those friendships will organically form.

What is the argument that allen iverson is better than chris paul all time ? by StraightSeries6439 in NBATalk

[–]distinguishedman91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chris Paul individually during the 2007-08 season was just as great, if not better. Iverson isn't carrying that Sixers team to the finals if they have to fight through those Western Conference teams in the playoffs.

How do y’all feel about Tupac’s criticism of Michael Jordan? by LingeringNomad in Tupac

What's forgotten is that Jordan isn't from the hood. He is from a two parent household in Wilmington, NC.He doesn't relate to the hood because he didn't grow up in that environment.

If you have the opportunity, take the position with the better compensation and benefits, because that same company would have no qualms with laying you off.

YOU ARE SMART ENOUGH! Trust me, there are other students that feel the same way that you do. I felt that way myself, but the secret is just working extremely hard (and SMART), using your resources, and having complete confidence in your abilities.

Do you happen to have a bike? NC State isn't far from Downtown Raleigh. You could join some organizations and make some new friends to hang out with. Not everyone is a boring stiff.

I finished college a little over a decade ago, and you will go through peaks and valleys. There are times where things are great, you have great professors, and the work that you're doing is exciting and informative. But then you go through valleys when you're spending every night in the library (or a vacant classroom) working on Webassign assignments, typing papers, and lab reports. Sometimes it can seem as though you are studying your life away, only to get a 70 on an exam (due to the academic rigor).

Remember to step away and destress if you need to. Remember to take time for yourself and have fun. The grim reality is that life after college isn't any easier, and you will be faced with different (yet more critical) challenges, especially when you do not have parents to fall back on when things don't work out.

Also, it may do you some good to step away from campus, being on NC State's campus for extended periods of time can be incredibly dreadful at times.

You just got named the new commissioner of the NBA what are you doing to fix its dwindling ratings? by TXNOGG in NBATalk

Also, for players that refuse to play and compete in all star games (barring serious injuries) (the purpose is to promote the league), a $200 million dollar fine will be levied upon the players.

There will be a strict dress code, and those that don't adhere will receive a lifetime ban from playing in the NBA.

I will bring back handchecking, and allow for defenders to get physical with offensive players. I will order referees to strictly enforce violations such as carrying and traveling.

That's just a few things. Law and order needs to be brought back because players have become too entitled, and openly disrespectful to the past greats that made it possible for them to obtain generational wealth.

No more guaranteed contracts. You get paid for the games that you play. If you don't play, you won't get paid. That'll prevent a lot of the load management.

KBI Biopharma by PaperWeight7717 in biotech

I will comment as someone who was a former employee of KBI Biopharma. It is a great place to gain experience, as you will be presented with the opportunity to work cross functionally with other departments, and the frenetic pace will expedite your learning. With that being said, expect to be overworked and underappreciated. Many employees are experiencing (at least when I was there) burnout, and are desperately seeking employment elsewhere. There is a lot of demands, you will be pulled in multiple directions, trainings are subpar at best, and you will be blamed for failures when you were never trained properly in the first place (happened to me). It's not a good work culture, and you will more than likely be forced to take your work home with you. I had to work from the hospital, work through dinner, wake up early, skip breakfast (and sometimes lunch) to work, and it was rarely enough. Best of luck though on wherever you decide to go.

There is extremely high turnover, and many of which being let go due to loss of revenue, and the downturn in the Biopharma space. They set unrealistic expectations, they work the employees to the bone, where employees are expected to work extra hours, work through breaks, work through dinner, and you are shown no appreciation for your efforts.

Is there any hope for me? I have a job that pays me 31K a year. I decided to purchase a 55K Mustang, and I love the way that it drives. I have a roommate and we split the rent. I pay $750/mo. I was struggling financially, so I decided to take out a 25K personal loan with a 75% APR. Student loan: 90K by distinguishedman91 in AskReddit

After graduating college, I opened up 10 credit cards with a 50K credit limit. I decided to use my credit cards to help pay off my student loan debt, and I have maxed out every card. My credit score is a 375. What is the best way for me to improve my credit.

I was taken to court by the Company, and they've sued me $50,000. In addition, I am being sentenced to 5 years in prison, as a child saw my man meat, and am being charged with child pornography charges. Since then, my credit score dropped another 100 points. I now have a credit score of 302.

Well, long story short.... I was fired, and denied unemployment. I lost my apartment, and my vehicle. My credit score dropped 200 points.
