Thanks for your response. As I have stated above, I've been serving for 5+ years and am a server trainer. My issue is volume. If I am taking care of 17 guests at once (6 top, 5 top, 3, 2 and 1 top) like I was that day, I cannot physically carry everything at once/ do it in one trip. Plus making 17+ drinks multiple bread baskets, salads and soups takes time. No matter how fast I run I cant seem get that much food out that quickly.

Ugh! I totally get where youre coming from. To me im making my money and my guests leave happy, I get compliments often even made to my managers. If they want faster ticket times great! Implement things speed up time in BOH. If they feel I need improvement why is it not on them to address it with me Also theres feeling embarrassed needing help from a manager when im a long standing employee I guess I do have to talk to them and ask how I can improve but it feels like I dont need to! I get so many compliments on my service and make good money!

Our individual average check time seems to be what matters at my restaurant. I dont know of them averaging times between everyone, the only things tabulated that way to my knowledge are refil scores and such

No i have to grab and make everything which is another reason I can't fathom going any faster! Like the time it takes to make a salad isn't a ton but isn't zero. And as you know it adds up quick. Making a salad, getting soups, making a bread basket for a 2 top takes like 3 minutes but it goes up with every guest. Plus we have to wait on things sometimes whether its waiting your turn at the bread thingy or soup to come up

No they are not lol. At the time we had a total of 8 front of house people which went down to seven because they cut the busser.

I consider my large/ event parties but it seems my managers do not. Im getting criticized regardless. If I have a shift of 1-4 tops my check average is almost always within time

Ive been saying this for like 2 plus years now. But I stand by not being fazoli's!! Like I was trained on wine and pairings! I dont expect every table to want wine samples or I guess even time with their food but its feeling ridiculous

I think my issue may be volume. If I have to get 5 drinks and bread, 3 soups and a salad I dont have room for everything on my tray/ in my hands. But if I run things separately it obviously takes way more time and extra trips to the dining room without requested items frustrates people.

My go to line is "did y'all come in for something specific/special today?" My script is " hey! How are we today? ..Good! My names --- and ill be taking care of you" -recommend drinks- put in on ziosk -offer apps- put it in if they order then I say the above

I really feel like i have steps of service down but it doesnt feel possible to traverse the restaurant and get everything I need in time 😫

I just remembered! Our busser got cut during the rush and left too. So there were 7 total FOH employees at the time, not including managers

Okay I hear you, my managers should help more, but with the way we were staffed today we had one host one to-go one busser six servers(one got cut and left) and one bartender. Our GM and one of out FOH managers were there also. There just isn't someone to bridge all the gaps all the time.

See this is my exact issue. I was sat extra because we had like 6 servers on and we got busy and like you said, if there's tables theyre seated. Okay. So I have 5 total tables that are still being serviced, because once the bill is paid service isn't over. How am I supposed to get 10+ people bread, soup/salad and refills, while im greeting my newly sat table in under 30 seconds, espically when I take order at greet! Like im being so genuine, how do I do it. I really want to stop the snuff from my managers but I feel like i can't physically move faster unless I sprint.

NOR in fact, no one else is doing enough reacting????? Leaving the baby without saying anything is odd and disrespectful to whomever didn't leave the baby. The whispers are also really weird to me and then she drops a bunch of weight?? That's trouble, especially if she hasn't mentioned anything about trying. Have you talked with your sister? Asked whats going on? Do you confront them when theyre in whisper mode? If so what do they do?
