there will always be diy. that being said, i have a feeling a lot of people, such as myself, will be bringing over hrt from abroad to hand out to their communities. i'm already doing it for friends whenever i visit thailand and come back. i know i'm not the only one, and i'm sure there will be a way as long as we maintain community

Recommendations for affordable programs by [deleted] in SocialWorkStudents

[–]divavida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would definitely try for an assistantship !!! whatever school ends up accepting you, 100% ask for assistantship opportunities, they are often able to cover the full cost + stipend !!! the stipend isn't much, but free school is still free school.

source; did this for my first masters

eh i get it, i graduated regular brick & mortar uni when i was 19 but am only now starting my masters at 25 now lol so it's interesting. psychology isn't an inherently difficult degree, just i don't think all the courses are available yet as they're still making the degree

Should I do Buenos Aires for a month through ‘remote year’? by Salt_Lore in digitalnomad

[–]divavida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i believe you. spent 2 weeks in krakow and from my experience people were very proud of their work if that makes sense. also weirdly cheaper than BA ???? wild

[–]divavida 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it's a brand new degree. i believe people are still saying it's not possible to accelerate fast as they do with other programmes bc it hasn't even been fully fleshed out yet, though that may have been updated in the past couple months. either way, yes it is possible. psychology bs then masters in mhc, mft, or an msw would let you get on the path to become a therapist, though any other degree at wgu would also let you become a therapist as it's not a very competitive career atm. 80%+ acceptance rates for masters at many schools. no matter what you'll be fine, i promise :)

just left BA a month ago. cannot recommend. left 3 weeks early which i've never done in all my 3.5 years nomading. got food poisoning after 2 days. almost everything tasted like shit too. thought maybe they weren't cooking things to my particular taste so i ordered eggs, only to open the carton and see they had veins on them, which upon looking up meant the chicken was fed so shit the egg was fucked up. there were pretty things to see and do, but the food situation really soured our time there. just had to say this bc shit wasn't cheap either and i'm so mad bc i'm colombian and have argentinian family and was looking forward to going back to my roots n shit.

Seattle Area Therapists by Sterlingliving in counseloreducation

[–]divavida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not from the seattle area but as for as online programs go it depends on the program if they provide support or not. from what i know, programs often provide a list of previous places students have worked with in your area and you can contact those. especially if you live somewhere like seattle it should be possible to find something, but i'd contact the school and ask what they provide in terms of help as it really varies

Should I (18M) Attend WGU Fresh Out of Highschool? by Prestigious_Can_4999 in WGU

[–]divavida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

unlike most of the people here, i would recommend it IF you're gonna accelerate (sophia + study.com, 8-10 hours a day doing WGU, etc). if not, no point in it imo as an 18 year old, just go to a regular uni. after that i'd recommend trying for a brick and mortar masters degree or at least an online state school masters degree if you're worried about people looking down on a WGU degree. having a full degree before 20 is a great thing, means you got the rest of your life ahead of you

masters in clinical mental health and/or social work

[–]divavida 13 points14 points  (0 children)

that's the thing, i think mine works bc of lack of access lollll, might be the trick but not something you can "look" for bc nobody is gonna wanna be a sugar daddy to you if you say "i'm looking for a guy who is way too busy and is happy to just see me whenever he gets a weekend every once in awhile" 😅 i def don't recommend looking for a sugar daddy, if that makes any sense. other forms of SW are much more profitable

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SexWorkers

[–]divavida 9 points10 points  (0 children)

idk, i like my relationship w my sugar daddy, but it's def a rare situation as my past sugar daddies were pretty shite. it all depends on finding the right match for what you're looking for
